This guide will go through what players need to know about Skyline Valley's Hidden Cave, including where to find it.

It's powerful, fast-firing, and it has a cool, unique appearance. Players who enjoy using energy weapons will have lots of fun taking on enemies with the V63-BERTHA. From low-level players to veterans, this weapon can fit in nicely with all player levels and several different build types, making it a very versatile weapon.

How To Get The V63-BERTHA

Skyline Valley's New Public Event

Dangerous Pastimes Event in Fallout 76

There's one public event that can pop up at random in the Skyline Valley region: Dangerous Pastimes. This event requires players to repair a lightning harvester, take down waves of Lost enemies, and kill the Thunder Crab.

It's a fairly straightforward event that can be completed in around 10 minutes. This event is the only place where players can get this weapon. While there's no guarantee that the player will get this particular weapon, each time they complete the event, they have a small chance to be awarded the V63-BERTHA.

Great Legendary Effects

A Winning Combination

V63-BERTHA in Fallout 76

Unfortunately, the V63-BERTHA can't be re-rolled for new legendary effects. However, the V63-BERTHA already has great legendary effects that work very well together:

  • Two Shot: +1 Projectiles +25% Damage
  • Rapid: +25% Weapon Speed
  • Swift: +15% Reload Speed

While the Two Shot effect could be better, it works surprisingly well on the V63-BERTHA. The other two effects are fantastic. The extra rate of fire will help players take down enemies much faster, and the increased reload speed is always a great effect to have on a weapon.

Fast Fire Rate

A Rapid Weapon

Thanks to its 2nd star effect, the V63-BERTHA has a very high rate of fire. This will help players to maximize their damage output. While it does eat through a lot of ammo, it's worth it for the extra damage that this speedy weapon doles out.

Also, the recoil isn't too bad when firing from the hip. Due to the way this weapon works, players don't need to directly hit an enemy to cause damage. By shooting close to an enemy, the energy pulses will bounce around and hit the target.

Great Against Most Enemy Types

Take Down Ghouls Quickly

While the V63-BERTHA doesn't do much against bosses like the Scorchbeast Queen and Earle Williams, it is a beast when it comes to taking down regular enemies that can be found roaming Appalachia.

Fallout 76: Skyline Valley's Hidden Secret

In Skyline Valley, Fallout 76 players can take on a hidden scavenger hunt.

The V63-BERTHA is especially good at taking down melee attackers before they get close enough to hit the player. Ghouls, Mirelurks, and human enemies can all be taken down easily and quickly with this weapon.

It's a great gun to have as a reserve weapon. Its fast-firing and hard-hitting shots are great against groups of enemies. If the player has a more powerful primary weapon like a Quad Railway Rifle, then they can switch between the two weapons to take down bosses and kill enemy groups.

Good Ammo Capacity

It Holds More Ammo Than The Standard Tesla Rifle

V63-BERTHA Crafting Menu in Fallout 76

A standard, non-legendary Tesla Rifle holds 15 bullets, while the V63-BERTHA holds 30 rounds. It doesn't sound like a lot, but being able to fire twice as many bullets before needing to reload can be a lifesaver in certain combat situations.

Tesla Rifles, in general, have a pretty slow reload speed despite not being a heavy weapon. While the reload speed can be increased by using the Speed Demon mutation, it is still fairly slow. So, being able to fire off more shots before needing to reload is a nice bonus.

Great For Leveling Up Quickly

Tag Enemies For Extra XP

A Player Holding The V63-BERTHA in Fallout 76

To receive XP for a kill, the player doesn't actually need to kill the enemy. Provided that the player has inflicted some damage on an enemy, they will get experience when that enemy is killed.

This is great for the V63-BERTHA because the energy beams it releases bounce around and hit both the intended target and other enemies who are standing close to the original target.

Events like Radiation Rumble are ideal for the V63-BERTHA as the player will be able to get XP for most of the kills made during the event.

Because this weapon doesn't need to hit an enemy directly to cause damage, it's possible to park up somewhere and simply fire in the rough direction that the enemies are coming from.

Ammo Is Easy To Come By

Fusion Cells Are A Commonly Sold Ammo Type

Fusion Cells in Fallout 76

Fusion Cells are a very popular ammo type that lots of players use. Because of the ammo's popularity, players who don't use Fusion Cells often sell them at their CAMP vendors for 1 Cap per round.

Also, while the ammo isn't particularly cheap to craft, by using the perks Ammo Smith and Super Duper alongside the legendary perk Ammo Factory, it's possible for players to craft over three times as much ammo as normal.

Because enemies drop contextual ammo, doing events that have lots of enemies and doing things like Expeditions and Daily Ops, allows players to farm as much ammo as they'd like.
