Highlights

  • Valuable apparel in Fallout 76 can be hard to find, but items like rare Fasnacht masks and jumpsuits are worth a hefty amount of Caps.
  • Completing events and quests in specific regions can give players a chance to obtain high-value items like coats and the Responders set.
  • Asylum uniforms are unique as they can be found without completing quests. Some versions, like the Red Asylum Uniform, can be extremely rare and valuable.

There are lots of apparel options in Fallout 76. Most are pretty worthless. However, some things are worth way more than Caps. Those items should never be sold in player vendors. Instead, they should be traded for other high-tier items by using places like Discord and Reddit.

Fallout 76: How to Farm Caps

Here’s how to farm and get extra Caps in Fallout 76 with easy and profitable methods.

Valuable apparel is usually pretty hard to get. Some pieces, like the Red Asylum uniform, have a tiny chance to spawn in certain locations on the map, while others, like the Tattered Field Jacket, can be obtained by completing certain events. Players who aren't familiar with apparel could be sitting on a gold mine and not even know it.

Please note that the Cap values mentioned throughout this article are rough estimates. Prices can fluctuate. So, should a player come across any of the items mentioned, head to an online forum to find out a more precise Cap value.

1 Rare Fasnacht Masks

Helvetia's Special Event

Loon Masks and Crazy Guy Masks in Fallout 76

There are several seasonal events in Fallout 76. The most popular one is centered around the real-world Fasnacht celebration. While the event is live, every hour, players can head to Helvetia to join the Fasnacht celebration. Every time the event is fully completed, players receive a mask.

While most masks don't have much value, there is a selection of masks that are hard to get. The masks that don't have much value can be sold in player vendors. Each time the player completes the Fasnacht Day event, they have a 5% chance to get a rare mask.

Some of the rare masks have been in the game since the event was first introduced, so while they are still valuable, they aren't as highly sought after as some of the newer masks. On the cheapest end of the scale is the Crazy Guy mask. This mask typically sells for between 30k and 40k. However, the newer masks, like the Glowing Scorchbeast Queen can be traded for top-tier weapons, armor, or other apparel items.

The full list of rare Fasnacht masks can be seen below. The list is organized in value from cheapest to most expensive:

  • Crazy Guy
  • Winter Man
  • Raven
  • Father Winter Helmet (Power Armor Piece)
  • Deathclaw
  • Demon
  • Buffoon
  • Brahmin
  • Hag
  • Fiend
  • Loon
  • Glowing Blue Devil
  • Glowing Honey Bee
  • Glowing Scorchbeast
  • Glowing Scorchbeast Queen

2 FSA & USA Masks

More Valuable Masks

FSA Mask in Fallout 76

Two rare masks can't be obtained during Fasnacht. They are the FSA (Forest Scout Armor) and the USA (Urban Scout Armor) masks. These masks can be used to complete the armor sets of the same name (FSA and USA). Players have a small chance of being awarded one of these masks for completing daily quests and events in the Savage Divide region.

Fallout 76: 7 Best Daily Quests To Complete

Players can hop on Fallout 76 daily to grind out a few quests for rewards. Here are the best activities to complete every day.

Events like One Violent Night and Uranium Fever have the chance to give the player one of the masks upon being completed. Their value is roughly between 80k and 110k. Players can also get what is known as the Wasteland Lottery. On rare occasions, completing any event in the Savage Divide will give the player the following rewards:

  • BOS Jumpsuit
  • White Powder Jumpsuit
  • FSA Mask
  • USA Mask

Should the player receive this reward, then they will be a part of a very small group of players who have won the Wasteland Lottery, as the chance of it happening is very, very rare.

3 Jumpsuits

There Are A Few High-Value Jumpsuits

White Powder Jumpsuit in Fallout 76

Most jumpsuits in Fallout 76 aren't worth anything. That said, there are a few jumpsuits that go for big bucks. Two of them can be obtained by completing events and daily quests in the Savage Divide region, while the other can be obtained by completing events and daily quests in the Forest region.

The chance of being awarded any of these jumpsuits is very low. There's less than a 1% chance of the player getting one of the jumpsuits for completing a quest or event within the regions mentioned above. So, should a player be fortunate enough to receive one, it should definitely not be sold in the player's vendor.

The high-value jumpsuits can be seen below:

  • White Powder Jumpsuit - Complete Savage Divide Events
  • BOS Jumpsuit - Complete Savage Divide Events
  • Forest Camo Jumpsuit - Complete Forest Events

The White Powder Jumpsuit usually hovers around the 100 - 115k Cap value mark. The BOS Jumpsuits can go for up to 150k, and the Forest Camo Jumpsuit typically sits at around 500k Cap value. While the Cap value fluctuates on all apparel items, these jumpsuits should always be kept safe or displayed at the player's camp for all to see.

4 Coats

Some Standard Looking Coats Are Incredibly Valuable

Traveling Leather Coat in Fallout 76

Three coats are highly sought-after in Fallout 76. They are the Traveling Leather Coat, the Leather Coat, and the Tattered Field Jacket. To receive one of these coats, the player will need to complete daily quests and events in the Mire Region. Keep in mind that the chance of being awarded one of these coats is as low as 0.06%, hence why they are so valuable.

The Traveling Leather Coat is the cheapest of the three. It usually has a Cap value of between 580k and 600k. The Leather Coat is a little more valuable. It goes for around 780k. As for the Tattered Field Jacket, this is the most valuable piece of apparel in Fallout 76. It's hard to put a value on this, but it is over the 1 million Cap mark. This jacket can be traded for some of the best weapons in the game.

5 Responders Set

A Firefighting Outfit

Responder Helmet in Fallout 76

This set comes in two parts. There's the uniform and the helmet. Together, this set has a rough Cap value of between 700k and 800k. So, it should never be sold in a player's vendor. Players have roughly a 0.03% chance of receiving one of the Responders pieces for completing events and daily quests in the Forest region. There's also a 0.02% chance of being awarded a piece for completing events and daily quests in the Toxic Valley region.

Players who have this set usually display it on a mannequin at their CAMP to show off to other players alongside all their other rare apparel pieces.

6 Asylum Uniforms

No Event Or Quest Needed

Forest Asylum Uniform in Fallout 76

Asylum Uniforms are different from all the other items mentioned. That's because players don't need to complete any quests or events to obtain these outfits. Simply head to the third floor of the former Brotherhood of Steel outpost, Fort Defiance. In the area with the Overseers Cache, there are several possible spawn locations for Asylum Uniforms.
