Fallout 5 has been one of the most anticipated upcoming projects for Bethesda for quite some time, with the last mainline single-player title for the franchise now having been released almost a decade ago. While other Bethesda franchises like The Elder Scrolls will be receiving new releases before Fallout, the recent success of Amazon's Fallout TV show has brought a lot of new fans to the IP.

The Fallout franchise has always had a penchant for Easter eggs littered throughout its open worlds, and it is safe to assume that Fallout 5 will be no different. With how popular the Fallout TV show has already been following its first season, it is already easy to imagine that Fallout 5 will feature a tonne of nods to the popular Prime Video show.

Fallout 5 Could Feature a Lot of Easter Eggs Referencing the TV Show

Fallout show Cooper the Ghoul and Dogmeat

The Fallout show launched on Prime Video on April 10, and the reception of the show has rocked the industry, with a second season already being green-lit by Amazon. Fallout was the most-streamed original series in the week starting April 19, with reports stating that over 2.5 million viewers tuned into the show during this time.

It is already clear that the Fallout show has introduced huge amounts of new fans to the franchise who are now experiencing the games for the first time. The central characters of the show are entirely original and have never featured in the games, and Easter eggs within Fallout 5 would be a great way to merge the gap between the franchise's gaming and live-action narratives.

Fallout 5 Already Has a Lot of Easter Egg Material

The Ghoul, played by Walton Goggins, is one of the most recognizable characters from the Fallout show, and Bethesda could easily insert some nods to the figure in Fallout 5, for example. The Ghoul's already iconic hat and duster jacket could appear in Fallout 5 as wearable items, perhaps even giving an overall bonus to the player if worn together. References could also be made to The Ghoul's pre-war life as famous actor Cooper Howard, with his films potentially being referenced through things like posters and billboards.

Fallout's main character, Lucy MacLean, is also deserving of Easter eggs in Fallout 5, and this could largely be done by making reference to her long-time residence, Vault 33. This Vault could be a fully explorable location in Fallout 4, depending on its geographical setting, but regardless, Vault 33 and its inhabitants should be mentioned and subtly featured throughout the next mainline game for eagle-eyed fans.

Maximus is another prominent character in the Fallout show, and its first season is already building him up as a major player in the Brotherhood of Steel faction. The Brotherhood of Steel often holds huge narrative importance in Fallout games, and Fallout 5's portrayal of the paramilitary group would not be complete without dialogue references to Maximus at the very least. Other than this, the first season of Fallout has already introduced a lot of iconic imagery for the show, and things like the severed head of Siggi Wilzig could appear as Easter eggs for players to find in Fallout 5. Fallout has a long history with Easter eggs that will surely be continued in its next entry, and the live-action show is already an endless source of smart references that Fallout 5 needs to include.
