Fallout 4 introduced a settlement mechanic that gave players the freedom to recreate different locations on the map. On top of the list of building options in the game, players have created a wide variety of mods to push this system's capabilities. Through these mods, players have been able to create truly great settlements and, in the latest example of this, one Fallout 4 player brought Tenpenny Tower from Fallout 3 to the Commonwealth.
Fallout 4 was released in 2015 and brought players to the Commonwealth, an apocalyptic version of eastern Massachusetts. There are a bunch of different settlements players can use to build on in Fallout 4, with this particular creation taking place on the Sunshine Tidings settlement. Tenpenny Tower, the inspiration for this build, was a fortified settlement in Fallout 3 and a possible player home.
This large build was made by u/Lonnie667 and from every angle it looks just like the original building in Fallout 3. Not only is the design impressive, but this creator made sure it even functions better than the original. The Federalist Lounge, Wellness Center, Boutique Le Chic, and Café Beau Monde have each been brought to life and are even populated with NPCs. To help load in this massive structure, u/Lonnie667 mentions that they only built the first three floors and the penthouse (which is now a massive player home). These were the only areas accessible in the original game anyway. Some compromises had to be made to the different rooms to make this creation work better in Fallout 4, but none of the changes take anything away from this recreation.
The Fallout 4 player who made this Tenpenny Tower mentions that it took them two weeks to complete this design. Not only does a build like this require that much time, but it also requires a good deal of mods as well. U/Lonnie667 lists Capital Wasteland Workshop, Place Everywhere, and Settlement Height 9000-AIO among the mods they needed to complete their Tenpenny Tower creation. Tenpenny Tower is home to one of the better side quests in Fallout 3 and, with its unique look, is one of the more memorable areas in the Capital Wasteland. This makes it quite the worthy location to be remade with Fallout 4's settlement system.
That being said, this location doesn't play as significant a role as other locations did in Fallout 3. Megaton, Raven Rock, and the Jefferson Memorial each hold important parts in the main storyline of the game. Either way, this creation is an impressive display of this Fallout 4 player's capabilities.
