Bethesda Softworks is known for creating impressive weapons from The Elder Scrolls franchise to the post-apocalyptic Fallout universe and fans occasionally create their own versions to place on their mantle. One Fallout 4 player has created a physical replica of one of the game's basic guns by handcrafting a pipe weapon from Fallout 4.

Reddit user Air_addict recently posted two photos of their Fallout 4 Pipe Revolver replica, one with an open-handed side view and the other showing it in the aiming down sight position. The weapon looks fittingly rustic as in Fallout 4 it appears pieced together with random materials as opposed to some of the more powerful firearms in the games. The fan-made gun has a high attention to detail and is well crafted to look significantly like the Pipe Revolver.

Air_addict's Pipe Revolver has an identical color scheme to the one featured in Fallout 4, with multiple shades of brown on the cylinder and most of the gun's body, and black electrical tape wrapped around the grip. Just like in Fallout 4, Air_addict's gun has a large cylinder that can hold up to six rounds, and it's nestled in the middle of the weapon and then leads to the barrel. In Fallout 4, the Pipe Revolver is one of the weaker guns crafted long before Fallout 4 players find nuclear material, and it usually fires .45 ammo, but Air_addict's Pipe Revolver is strictly aesthetic and doesn't shoot.

This Fallout 4 fan has stated that the Pipe Revolver replica is mostly made of PLA plastic which was sanded down and painted to reflect the in-game item. Air_addict used an 8mm metal threaded bar and nuts to hold things in place to maximize authenticity like with other Fallout replicas, with the nuts and a screw being visible in the images. The cylinder that takes up a lot of the space in the gun doesn't open according to Air_addict who confirmed that it's "fixed in place" and emphasized that the gun is simply a prop.

Although the Pipe weapons in Fallout 4 look very uncomfortable to handle, Air_addict confirmed that the tape on the handle helps effectively with gripping the revolver. One Fallout 4 fan noted how impressive the Bethesda Softworks weapon design is with the minimalist weaponry as the Pipe Revolver in the game looks to be made of pipes, wood, rubber, screws, nuts, and other readily available scrap materials. Other Fallout fans have pointed out the likelihood that such rustic guns would explode in someone's hand if they were real, but Air_addict's replica isn't capable of testing that theory.

Fallout 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
