  • The Fallout franchise is seeing a resurgence in players, thanks in part to Amazon's Fallout TV show.
  • Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC was well-received, paving the way for a sequel in the future.

A Cyberpunk 2077 fan has recreated one of the game's most famous Johnny Silverhand moments using Nick Valentine in Fallout 4. After the successful release of Amazon's highly acclaimed Fallout TV show last month, there's been a boom of new players diving into the games for the first time. Fallout 3, New Vegas, Fallout 76, and Fallout 4 have all seen massive player spikes as more people have been playing the franchise than ever before over the past month.

Cyberpunk 2077 is no slouch either, as after slowly clawing its way back from a disastrous 2020 launch, the game's Phantom Liberty DLC finally hit last year to critical acclaim and huge numbers. A moment from one of the game's trailers that stuck with fans is Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand crouching over the protagonist in a landfill on the outskirts of Night City, waking them up and saying his iconic line: "We've got a city to burn." While the moment didn't make it into the final game, it's undoubtedly one of Johnny Silverhand's most quotable lines.

One clever Fallout 4 player has gone ahead and recreated this famous Cyberpunk trailer moment using one of Fallout 4's most popular companions, Nick Valentine. Reddit user Over-Palpitation-360 posted a photo of Nick Valentine crouching above the player wearing Silverhand's long black hair, a pair of aviator sunglasses, and armor that somewhat resembles Johnny's cybernetic arm. While the angle of the shot and the background isn't quite spot on, Nick Valentine's transformation into whom Over-Palpatation humorously calls Nick Silverhand certainly is.

Below the post, Over-Palpitation confirms that they were able to give Nick Valentine Silverhand's luscious black hair with the help of Fallout 4's Unified Clothing Overhaul (UCO) mod, which allows players to create new hairstyles that can be applied to different characters, among other things like outfits, armor, and weapons. It's quite fitting that Over-Palpitation chose Nick Valentine for this, considering he's one of Fallout 4's robotic Synth androids. As such, he'd likely be right at home in Cyberpunk's futuristic world among the chromed-up population of Night City.

Following the Fallout TV show, Fallout 4 has recently received its next-gen update for console users on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Beyond that, to the excitement of fans old and new, the Fallout series has been picked up for a second season. As for Cyberpunk 2077, with its one and only DLC, Phantom Liberty, out the door, CD Projekt is moving on to its sequel, which is likely to follow The Witcher 4 several years from now.
