One YouTuber decides to recreate Lord of the Rings' Battle of Helm's Deep in Fallout 4, pitting an army of Super Mutants against a bastion of human survivors.

The open world of Fallout 4 is ripe for players to unleash their creative side, whether it be through building new Commonwealth wasteland settlements or using the wealth of modded content available for the game. Some users, however, prefer to use the game to set of huge battles between different factions. The most recent example of this showcases exactly how much fun these battles can be, with one gamer setting up a Lord of the Rings-esque epic battle.

Taking a cue from the Battle of Helm's Deep from The Two Towers, YouTube user Cosmic Contrarian decided to set up a Fallout-style replica of the desperate fight between Rohan and Saruman's Uruk-hai Orc army. This being Fallout 4, however, the battle instead takes place between a vicious army of Super Mutants and an array of human survivors entrenched in an armored compound.

With Super Mutants coming hard and fast, the human soldiers have several huge advantages over their Lord of the Rings counterparts, particularly in the form of power armor-clad warriors and a wall of gatling laser snipers. Nonetheless, it's still a tough battle between the two sides. Those who want to check out the whole fight can do so with the YouTube video below.

Cosmic Contrarian manages to deliver an accurate depiction of the Battle of Helm's Deep within Fallout 4. It also managed to get the gaming community asking what the YouTuber had planned next, with suggestions such as Minas Tirith from Return of the King. One question remains, however: exactly how much power does Cosmic Contrarian have to run all these huge battles?

Since the game’s release, plenty of Fallout 4 players have seen the game as an opportunity to unleash huge battles between warring factions. Cosmic Contrarian also decided to pit two of the biggest rivals of the wasteland against one another, with a fight between 100 Brotherhood of Steel and 1,000 Deathclaws. Meanwhile, another user followed suit with a similar fight, pitting 1,000 Deathclaws up against 10 Liberty Prime robots.

Of course, players have found plenty of other things to do in Fallout 4 aside from setting up huge combat scenes. In terms of fan-made content, gamers have found themselves with a huge variety of fantastic and funny mods to choose from, including the much-anticipated Macho Man mod, whilst another turns Deathclaws into Thomas the Tank Engine. That said, the epic battle construction seems to have really taken off with Fallout 4’s fans – let’s see what the user base has in store next.
