Fallout 4 has once again garnered popularity since the Fallout title received its next-gen update for both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. With many players returning to the wasteland or even new players that have been attracted to playing since the release of the Fallout TV series, many have found the wastelands of the Commonwealth to be a lot harder to survive in than they originally expected.

Fallout 4: The Hardest Encounters In The Entire Game

Fallout 4 may not be as difficult as the series' first few entries, but there are certainly a few enemies able to give players a run for their money.

In true Bethesda fashion, there are many hilarious ways to see the end of the player's character from radiation poisoning to not thinking ahead. These are by far the funniest ways to die while exploring in Fallout 4.

8 Sitting Around At The Start

Accepting The End Of The World Can Be Peaceful

fallout-4-prologue-nuke

Starting Fallout 4 puts players in a peaceful life with their family as every day starts like any other with Codsworth looking after the baby and the player getting to watch some TV. However, unlike any other, today is the day that a nuke has been dropped and players need to make their way to the vault if they wish to avoid becoming toast.

It is possible to ignore the pleading of the player's partner who is carrying their baby and simply sit back down on the couch to continue watching the TV or maybe go for a run around the town instead while everyone else attempts to evacuate. Waiting long enough will see the nuke dropped, and the player killed instantly.

7 Eating Radioactive Food

Radiation Is No Joke

Food Purchase in Fallout 4

Besides stimpaks, food is another viable way for players to regain their health in dangerous situations, as well as possibly buffing stats depending on whether the food is a cooked item. Although it is a good idea to rely on this food, eating too much of the boxed delights from before the bombs hit are now filled with radiation.

Eating too much at once, or already being quite radiated when consuming it, can see players exiting out of their inventory only to see their character drop dead on the floor from radiation poisoning.

6 A Fat Man To The Face

Look Out For Rockets In Boston

Fat Man in Fallout 4

Out of all the weaponry in Fallout 4, the Fat Man is by far one of the deadliest for players to go up against, and they can die to it in many hilarious ways. Since the Fat Man fires mini-nukes, it's nearly impossible to avoid the explosion caused by the launcher once the player has heard the whistle of it approaching. It's likely too late to get away.

However, the Fat Man isn't just a danger to players when it's used by someone else, but it can also be a danger to the player when they are using it themselves. It's possible for the player to blow themselves up when using the MIRV modification if they are firing down toward someone.

5 Running Naked Into The Glowing Sea

It's The Most Radioactive Place In The Commonwealth

The Crater of Atom settlement in Fallout 4's Glowing Sea

The Glowing Sea is the most radioactive area in the entirety of the Commonwealth in Fallout 4. When attempting to complete the main story of the game, players will be forced to explore such a place, which can be incredibly dangerous if the player isn't wearing the right gear.

One of the funniest ways for players to die in the Glowing Sea revolves around a player going in there essentially naked as they've refused to equip a hazmat suit or a set of power armor. This therefore means the player is likely to die in seconds.

4 Picking A Fight With The Locals

Don't Steal In Front Of Everyone

Diamond City's main gate in Fallout 4

Like any good Bethesda RPG, the funniest part of the game is the NPCs. Fallout 4 has plenty of NPCs for players to interact with by either helping them with their quests or accidentally angering the whole town. Players can do this in a variety of ways, from accidentally hitting someone to stealing an item in front of a person.

On some occasions, players may simply get a warning and be arrested, but other times a player will need to flee as the entire population of NPCs is out for the player's blood.

3 Stepping On A Mine

Listen Out For The Ticking

Fallout 4 Nuke Mine

The Commonwealth is quite the eventful place to explore, with even the moments that feel relaxing being interrupted by the sudden sound of ticking at the players' feet. It's very easy to forget to look down while exploring in Fallout 4, which can therefore lead to the player getting their legs blown off by a mine.

Fallout 4 puts a lot of emphasis on rebuilding rather than character interaction. These are some pro-tips to getting more scrap and materials!

If a player is quick, they can disarm the mine before it explodes, but once they're too close and the ticking has quickened, it's far too late to react, and the player is likely to die from the explosion, especially if it's more than a regular bottlecap mine.

2 Friendly Fire From Friends

Some Perks Can Save Players From Accidental Deaths

Fallout 4 Piper

Players should be thankful that they don't have to explore in Fallout 4 alone, as there are plenty of companions to recruit while a player is on their travels.

While great for giving backup fire, a player should be careful what sort of weaponry they hand to their companions, like Piper, as a player who hasn't unlocked the Inspirational perk in the Charisma skill tree, will take all the damage done by their companions' weaponry. This can be incredibly deadly if players have decided to hand their companion a Fat Man or even grenades.

1 Going Toe-To-Claw With A Deathclaw

Players Should Keep Their Distance From These Creatures

Fallout_4_Deathclaw

One of the funniest ways to die in Fallout 4 has to involve one of the scariest monsters to haunt the Commonwealth, as well as other Fallout titles. The Deathclaw is a deadly fighter that has large claws to quickly kill the player.

Getting too close to the creature will see the player swiped at and pulled apart in mere seconds. Therefore, any player who wants to stay alive should keep their distance from the creature and not resort to beating it to death with a Swatter, as they are likely to die instead.
