The character creator of Fallout 4 represented a huge leap for Bethesda games when it came to creating one's in-game avatar – and one player in the community used it to make a surprisingly uncanny Arnold Schwarzenegger lookalike. Though Fallout 4 was a step backwards for a fair few role-playing aspects the Fallout franchise was known for (such as the dialogue system), it finally managed to bring the complexity of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion's infamous character creation tool with none of its shortcomings.

Fallout 76 employed the same character creator as Fallout 4, and players have been using it in both games to create celebrity lookalikes or famous fictional characters since launch. From The Witcher fans recreating Ciri and Geralt in Fallout 4, to roaming the wastelands of post-apocalyptic Boston as Walter White, the flexibility of Fallout 4's character creator is plain to see.

One player decided to create a strangely fitting celebrity lookalike for their first Survival playthrough, and that's Denny McClane with a near-perfect replica of Arnold Schwarzenegger that was with Fallout 4's Reddit community. Famous for his role as the T-800 in The Terminator movies, there's a certain kind of irony in playing as Arnold in the Fallout game that extensively deals with synths – who were inspired by The Terminator in their visual design.

Though the likeness is truly commendable, there is one extra step that could push the experience even further: the Talk Like Arnie mod for Fallout 4. This voice replacer mod switches out the Sole Survivor's original voice for a performance that closely matches Arnold Schwarzenegger's unique intonation.

Despite releasing in 2015, Fallout 4 is still going strong thanks to the game's thriving modding community. Additionally, much like Skyrim, Bethesda is releasing a next-gen version of Fallout 4 next year as part of the franchise's 25th Anniversary. Unlike Skyrim, this "anniversary" edition of Fallout 4 will be free to owners of the game. With Fallout 76 coming a long way since its rocky launch, the intellectual property seems to be on steady ground once more.

While it is unlikely that Fallout 5 will feature the same character creator as Fallout 4, one should look to Starfield's character creation system as proof that Bethesda will keep pushing player customization in the right direction. With Starfield presumably releasing in the first half of 2023, it will provide players with a hands-on impression of the new era of Bethesda games built on the next generation of Creation Engine.

Fallout 4 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version coming in 2023.
