Fallout 4 was the first game in the Fallout franchise to introduce the Junk Jet weapon, which as the name implies, is a weapon that uses miscellaneous objects for ammunition. The Junk Jet returned later in the mobile game, Fallout Shelter, but it hasn't made it into any of the other Fallout games since then. Fans are still holding out hope that the Junk Jet will make an appearance again in the franchise, particularly in Fallout 76.

Fans in the community have been asking for the Junk Jet to come to Fallout 76 ever since the game was released back in 2018. While the demands to revive the Junk Jet in Fallout 76 have been going on for a while, some of the game's recent developments would take the gun to the next level. With this in mind, fans will likely continue to wish this into reality until it finally happens.

Fallout 76 is the Perfect Sandbox for Fallout 4's Junk Jet

Fallout 76 Heavy Weapon Strength Perks Expert Master Heavy Gunner

Most games in the Fallout franchise already have the necessities to provide a fun environment for the Junk Jet, though some of the features exclusive to Fallout 76 could be especially good for the gun. There are still a couple more years of continued support for Fallout 76, so a revival of the Junk Jet is still a possibility.

Despite the constraints that Fallout 76 adds to the franchise as a multiplayer game in a family of primarily single-player games, it also has plenty of benefits that balance out the experience. Some of the features unique to the Fallout 1st premium subscription for Fallout 76 might be what it needs to make the Junk Jet truly shine. Outside the benefits provided by Fallout 1st, plenty of other existing features in Fallout 76 would also be highly beneficial for the gun.

Collecting junk is a central part of the Fallout 76 experience, so the unlimited junk storage container provided by Fallout 1st would be a game-changer for the Junk Jet. Much like in Fallout 4, the main reasons to collect junk are to build C.A.M.P.S. in Fallout 76 and to maintain the player’s gear. For longtime Fallout 76 players, it’s easy to accumulate more junk than most players will ever end up using. Especially for players who subscribe to Fallout 1st and can hoard an infinite amount of junk resources, the Junk Jet would be the perfect excuse to put these resources to better use as ammunition.

Not only is it easy to store a surplus of junk in Fallout 76’s personal stash containers, but there are also benefits to actively carrying junk in the player’s inventory. So as long as players are in possession of junk, which is ammo for the Junk Jet, certain perks in Fallout 76 passively grant some defensive benefits to players. These perks that increase a player's damage resistances when carrying junk would make the Junk Jet a strong part of the best builds in Fallout 76. At the same time, the Junk Jet would presumably classify as a heavy weapon in Fallout 76 with plenty of offensive perks from that category to benefit from as well. With all of these defensive and offensive perks combined, the Junk Jet could prove to be one of the best weapons in Fallout 76, if it ever arrives.

Of all things that Fallout 76 could offer the Junk Jet, the legendary crafting system might be the best thing for the gun to thrive. Fallout 76 allows players to turn nearly every standard weapon into a legendary weapon with up to three unique effects. Players can keep re-rolling the effects of legendary weapons until getting the desired legendary effects. With the right combination of legendary weapon effects in Fallout 76, the Junk Jet could be a devastating weapon.

Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
