A gamer online has shared some awesome gameplay images from the original 1997 Fallout running on a Nintendo 3DS, thanks to a cool mod for the game. The original Fallout was originally only released for PC, but now gamers are able to take it on the go thanks to this Nintendo 3DS mod.

In just a few years, the original Fallout will turn 30 years old. Its influence cannot be understated, and to this day, it remains one of the most influential RPGs of all time. Its atompunk aesthetic remains as striking today as it was in 1997, and combined with solid mechanics, Fallout helped to revive the RPG genre, which was on its knees at the time. Later, Bethesda went on to purchase Fallout, which has helped grow the IP even further in the public eye. Still, there are those who are die-hards for the original Interplay titles, and many even believe that Fallout 1 should be remade entirely.

Thanks to a mod from MrHuu on GBATemp, Redditor Loopuze1 was able to share some images of the original Fallout running on the Nintendo 3DS. Considering the game wasn't designed for the dual screens on the platform, it seems to work incredibly well, with the gameplay at the bottom of the screen and the UI being able to move to the top. The stylus suits the point-and-click gameplay of Fallout great, too, although Loopuze1 did report that switching between left and right click with the L button was "a little clunky." Fallout has often had issues working on modern hardware, so this might not be a bad way for gamers to experience one of the best isometric RPGs ever.

Because of how the mod works, players must own a legal copy of the original Fallout on PC for this to work. According to Loopuze1, the process is pretty simple, claiming players "just have to install it, copy over files from your original, legally purchased copy and you’re good to go." Over the years, there have been some awesome mods for the original Fallout, but this one might be among the very best.
