Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been the talk of the town over the last few weeks. Only a week after its official launch, Fall Guys is celebrating impressive sales numbers on Steam, but of course, that means the game is full of players, and the development team has needed to do extra work to keep up with the player demand. Today, Fall Guys developer Mediatonic detailed some fixes and updates coming to the game that will improve the player experience, including adding a popular mini-game from the beta.

The official Fall Guys Twitter account sent out a thread that listed several updates coming to the adorable battle royale. The fixes are mostly to stabilize different mini-games throughout Fall Guys and improve the overall player experience. Some of the updates in the patch notes include fixing the frame rate on the Tip Toes mini-game, fixing collision issues on the Block Party stage, and maybe most importantly, fixing an issue on Fall Mountain where the game-winning crown wouldn't be grabbable in some instances.

Aside from the patch notes and other server fixes coming to the game, the biggest addition is clearly adding in a popular mini-game from the beta called Jump Showdown. Jump Showdown places players on a giant circle platform and asks them to jump over a small rotating beam while ducking under a bigger, slower rotating beam. As an added challenge, and to set it apart from a similar mini-game called Jump Club, the platforms in Jump Showdown fall after a certain period of time, restricting the area where players can stand. Jump Showdown is typically reserved for final rounds and surviving means a player wins an elusive crown.

Jump Showdown is just the first post-launch addition to Fall Guys, although it's not an entirely new course for the game. Mediatonic is promising to add in new mini-games soon to add to the 20+ that game currently boasts. Along with other levels, Mediatonic is always adding new costumes to Fall Guys shop as well which has recently included crossover outfits featuring Hotline Miami and Half-Life: Alyx. The Fall Guys Twitter account posted recently that the team would love to do a Fortnite crossover, something that Fortnite isn't a stranger to doing.

Players have been flocking to Fall Guys on Steam and on PlayStation 4, while it seems like a great thing for Mediatonic, the development team wasn't quite prepared for the instant popularity the game would have. Fall Guys was also made free on PlayStation Plus this month which brought even more players into the fray and ultimately, across both platforms, the game's servers took a wallop. Since launch, Mediatonic has been working diligently on the game's servers so it can hold the crazy amount of players trying to fumble their way through Wipeout! style courses.

Even with its issues, Fall Guys is Devolver Digital's most successful launch in the companies history. Devolver, the game's publisher, first showed off the cute, bubbly battle royale in 2019 during one of the company's wacky Devolver Digital E3 Press Conference. And since launch, Fall Guys has sold more than 2 million copies on Steam and enjoyed being the top overall watched game on Twitch multiple times.
