Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is back with a major update adding a variety of content to the game. The Battle Royale title by Mediatonic has attracted players across all devices to its chaotic and competitive platforming. Now, the team is continuing to improve on the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout experience with the massive 4.5 patch.

Many gamers will likely recognize one of the best Battle Royales for its signature bean-like characters. Players must face off in a series of mini-games and challenges, with the threat of elimination for falling behind. As a live service title, new modes and features are a large part of what keeps fans engaging with the game. With the update, it looks like Mediatonic is working hard to keep the experience fresh.

While the full patch notes showcase a plethora of extras, some stand out over others. The main highlight looks to be the addition of two brand new rounds. The Slimescraper is a sequel to Slimb Climb, while Button Bashers pits competitors against each other in a 1v1 format. Plus, across the 12 available rounds, there will now be 55 variations that can appear. Overall latency is getting an improvement, and Mediatonic is also bringing a reporting feature for flagging potential cheaters.

With versions on different platforms, cross play is an aspect players will have been looking out for. Custom Lobbies are available for everyone, so PC and PlayStation 4 players can join up and make all the classic mistakes in Fall Guys. This crossover extends to regular matchmaking between the two platforms, but parties are still limited to a specific device. There are a host of bug fixes in the update too, like changes to game physics and patching a variety of localization issues.

Update 4.5 is looking like a solid expansion after the success of Squads Mode in Fall Guys. With unique rounds and a host of variations in the mix, those who might have found the title getting repetitive can dive in for some new action. Now that Custom Lobbies and matchmaking are open to players across platforms, the game will likely be bringing in some more fans. On top of that, Mediatonic is boosting the overall quality with these bug fixes.

Then again, with so many Battle Royale titles in the market, this patch could fly under the radar. While the style and gameplay of this title are unique, it might not be able to pull in players from other Battle Royales. It seems like Mediatonic is aiming to release more of the same, with still no update on the Switch or Xbox delay. Overall update 4.5 should be an exciting prospect for those enjoying the colorful competition of Fall Guys.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on PC and PS4 with versions for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in development.
