Fall Guys has been unstoppable since it launched on PC and PS4 a few weeks back, and a recent tweet from PlayStation UK confirms just how huge the game has become. According to the tweet, Fall Guys has officially become the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time.

This is quite the feat, as Rocket League also saw a PlayStation Plus launch and seemed to take the world by storm. This game is on another level, however, as Fall Guys’ 8 million+ player count on PlayStation 4 alone indicates. Launching free for Plus was a brilliant move on the part of Mediatonic and Sony, as it has allowed a far larger audience to get their hands on Fall Guys.

PlayStation Plus members can still download Fall Guys for another week. When it leaves the service, Fall Guys will likely still see some solid sales from those who missed out on it during its time on Plus. However, with so many already having the game, Mediatonic can expect a hefty amount of Kudos (the in-game currency) to be purchased. The developer has promised that plenty of new skins will be coming to Fall Guys in the future, so Kudos will likely be bought plenty by fans eager to dress up their bean in the coolest items. Mediatonic may also charge for the upcoming Season 2 Battle Pass, and in a perfect world, the pass would include some of the amazing Pokemon skin concepts that have been shown for Fall Guys.

Regardless, Fall Guys becoming the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game ever is an incredible feat. Not only was Rocket League available for free on the service, but games like Shadow of the Colossus and Destiny 2 were PS Plus games as well. Both Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered were also on Plus, the latter of which seems to be the previous record holder. Beating out massive AAA titles like Call of Duty is something Mediatonic likely never even dreamed of, but the game’s mind-blowing success truly is well-deserved.

It will be interesting to see how the game performs if the recent rumor of a Nintendo Switch port of Fall Guys comes to fruition. The game will not have a free launch on the Switch platform, though that has not stopped the PC version of the game from selling tremendously. While it may not break any sales records there, the game is a perfect fit for the Switch’s mobile gameplay and Mediatonic would certainly be happy to further grow the Fall Guys community. If an Xbox version of the game will ever come remains unclear.

Players just cannot seem to stop playing with the overly large beans of Fall Guys, and with more content on the way, that is unlikely to change. The most adorable battle royale on the market is not going anywhere anytime soon, as its record-breaking PlayStation Plus performance confirms the game will likely have legs for a long time.

Fall Guys is now available on PC and PlayStation 4.
