The next Fall Guys crossover focuses on Death Stranding, one of the most unexpected collaborations to date. Being a modern live service game, Fall Guys has crossed over with popular franchises like Halo, Star Trek, and Sonic the Hedgehog, but the upcoming one may be a surprise to some players.Fall Guys was initially released in August 2020, and Mediatonic secured a collaboration with Valve's Team Fortress 2 for it later in the same month. Mediatonic was soon acquired by Epic Games and since then, each battle pass has focused on at least one significant intellectual property as others periodically appeared in the in-game shop. The next crossover for Fall Guys has been teased by Mediatonic, and it's another successful game with an iconic protagonist.The Fall Guys Twitter account has revealed that Death Stranding is the next collaboration for the free-to-play game with one word and an image. Only stating "BB" in the post, the Fall Guys screenshot focuses on a Bean version of the Bridge Baby that Sam Bridges bonds with during the Death Stranding storyline. The Fall Guys BB is connected to what's likely a Sam Bridges skin for the player to equip, but the character is barely visible beyond where the BB pod is resting and a hand on either side. The Death Stranding crossover is set to release in Fall Guys on July 18 as part of Season 4, which continues into August.
As Death Stranding is set to be part of the ongoing Fall Guys Season 4, the cosmetics inspired by the IP will likely be sold in the shop. Similar to prior Fall Guys seasons, this may come in the form of individual items that fans can pick from, or a bundle that includes all of them for a reduced price. Death Stranding was originally released as a PlayStation exclusive but has since expanded its player base on PC, and this crossover with Fall Guys may open the door to more in the future with games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, or Call of Duty: Warzone.
Because Fall Guys has an "E for Everyone" ESRB rating, there are child-friendly IPs that the game has collaborated with including SpongeBob SquarePants, and different Disney movies like Encanto, The Jungle Book, and Nightmare Before Christmas. The Death Stranding crossover may have surprised some given its mature rating, but Fall Guys has already set the standard of featuring cosmetics inspired by such games in its crossovers with Assassin's Creed, Gears of War, Skyrim, and more.
