Aside from a handful of preceding rumors, Fable first manifested at the Xbox Games Showcase in July 2020 with a CGI trailer showing off a magical kingdom, a fairy, a sword, and a toad. Fans have been anticipating seeing it again, especially at 2023's Xbox Games Showcase which promised no first-party CGI trailers. Its appearance there would mark its first major showcase in three years, so many had their fingers crossed.

In fact, fans had good reason to expect it to be there. A recent social media post advertising the showcase saw someone sprinkle tons of glitter across their carpeted floors, leading up to a monitor with the Xbox Games Showcase. Not only would it make no sense to ruin, for years potentially, one's home for anything less than the Fable reboot, but the glitter trail + music were obvious throwbacks to the game. Luckily, many fans got to cross the Fable reboot off their wish list.

As seen below, the Fable trailer begins with commentary on heroes and what defines them, calling the age of heroes over and that they now live in an age of innovation. A mysterious character narrates, while spotting a hero that is very small, revealing that character to be a giant of sorts. It ends with an F-bomb teaser before showcasing the Fable logo and a suggestion that the hero has slain the giant, promising that it will release day one on Xbox Game Pass.

However, it should be noted that no Fable date or release window was given. It's not surprising, but it's still an impressive in-game look at the title. Since it has been three years since the last trailer, it's more than welcome.

Fable is in development.
