Exoprimal mixes dinosaurs with advances in modern technology as teams of five suit up and compete for the fastest dino-slaying time in AI-controlled war games. Exoprimal currently has a main game mode called Dino Survival with variable mission-play and match endings via PVE, PVP, and random selections, as players navigate city-style maps and combat test scenarios in different ways. Yet, there's much more to come with Exoprimal's roadmap, which looks set to add seasonal content updates approximately every three months.

As Capcom's new dinosaur game, Exoprimal launched on Xbox Game Pass as a day one release on July 14, 2023. After becoming familiar with Dino Survival, many players may be eager to know what's next on the horde-filled horizon. Exoprimal's future looks promising, with content updates just around the corner, meaning fans won't have to wait long for new content.

Exoprimal's Season 1 Roadmap - New Game Mode And Exosuit Alpha Variants

The Murasame Exosuit from Capcom's Exoprimal

On July 28, Exoprimal's seasonal theme approach kicks off its season 1 updates with a new game mode called Savage Gauntlet, a different mode from Dino Survival. Savage Gauntlet appears geared towards end-game players, described on Capcom's Exoprimal site as 'end-game content' for 'Veteran Exofighters'. Although unconfirmed, this suggests players may need to complete the final boss battle ending. The footage revealed so far indicates it's a time-competitive game mode with more challenging special 5-player missions and weekly changeable rules.

Season 1 also plans to give players even more ways to vary and change Exosuits in Exoprimal with the inclusion of 10 Exosuit Alpha Variants launching August 16, 2023. These give default Exosuits a variant option with a different type of ability or weapon. The 10 Exosuit Alpha Variants are as follows.

Assault

  • Deadeye - The Ravager assault rifle swaps for a shotgun that switches to Burst Fire when aiming down the sights.
  • Barrage - This suit ets a chargeable rocket launcher to deal damage and rocket-jump into the air.
  • Zephyr - The alpha variant for Zephyr gets shootable energy halos from its arm chakrams.
  • Vigilant - This suit gets a semi-automatic rifle that launches single-fire projectiles and improved maneuverability.

Tank

  • Roadblock - The Roadblock gets an arm-mounted shotgun, placeable shields, and a recoverable arm-mounted shield that attracts enemies before bursting and destroying surrounding foes.
  • Krieger - The Krieger's variant wields a massive chargeable shotgun.
  • Murasame - A Frost Glaive counterattack ability where waves of ice freeze enemies.

Support

  • Witchdoctor - The Witchdoctor Alpha variant gets a multifunctional duality beam that heals teammates and damages foes upon hit.
  • Nimbus - This alpha variant gets two types of shotguns.
  • Skywave - Gets a Thunderclap ability which paralyzes enemies with lighting, including a chargeable bolt.

Exoprimal's Season 2 And 3 Roadmap - Collaborations And More

Street Fighter Exoprimal

Exoprimal's season 2 begins around October 2023 and includes an Ocean Platform map, new rigs, modules, and a new final mission. Street Fighter 6's crossover with Exoprimal also launches sometime during season 2. Although this might sound bizarre, footage of a robotic Ryu and Guile indicates players may get a range of Street Fighter 6-style Exosuit skins to customize their Exofighters. There is already a fun selection of cosmetic skins, such as a robotic pirate-themed Exosuit skin, so many fans may be excited to increase their collection of battle-ready outfits.

In season 3 beginning around January 2024, Exoprimal plans to introduce Exosuit Beta variants and a Neo Triceratops dinosaur. Furthermore, although Exoprimal differs from Monster Hunter games, it's also planning a crossover with the franchise. Albeit pure speculation, it could potentially include Monster Hunter-themed skins or even dinosaurs from the games. It's also worth noting that Exoprimal's roadmap states there are other planned updates outside the content listed, so it's possible there is even more content to look forward to.

Exoprimal is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
