The first two missions in Evil Dead: The Game have a few bumps in the road, but nothing that a few hours of gameplay can't handle. The third mission is what has the entire community really struggling. Even after a full day of gaming, many players are stumped and don't know how to progress.
It comes down to two issues: a time limit and two really nasty bosses. But don't throw in the towel on finishing the Evil Dead: The Game campaign yet. Although it can be hard for an entire team to knock out, a single player with the right strategy can get this done with time and health to spare.
How To Beat "Kill 'Em All!"
Looting Faison Farm
If players have any hope of winning the mission, they'll need to get off to a great (and quick) start. Here's a recommendation: Find all of these items at Faison's Farm before getting in the car: three Shemp's Colas, three amulets (use one), and lots of ammunition.
If this takes more than two minutes, simply start over and pick them up faster for the next time. There's no reason to rush and miss any of these pieces of equipment. The first boss can easily require the use of all of these items.
There is a tree that attacks if players get too close to it. It might not seem like too big of a deal, but every bit of health counts, so stay away from it.
Fight At The First Objective
Get in the car and drive to the first point, taking the road on the way. If the car survives the mission, the time limit should be no issue, but it breaks down pretty easily, so don't run into anything except deadites on purpose. Park at the crossroads before making the last turn right.
Go straight for the objective and prepare for a fight. Thankfully, the area by the point has plenty of light, so Ash's fear should decrease during this fight.
These deadites die in one headshot or two body shots, but they explode upon death so use the legendary gun to kill them from afar. Ideally, players won't have lost much health, but a couple of hits will probably have used up an amulet, so use one to get the shield back to full.
Before getting back to the car, grab the ammunition next to the scarecrow and on the wooden platform with the hay.
Fight At The Second Objective
There isn't a nice road that goes straight to the point, so there is going to be a bit of a shortcut. On the south side of Dead End, there are two houses with some fencing but the fences don't damage the car. Plow through them, then use the road leading north to get to the point.
Before getting to the second objective, look to the left and spot an open shed. Find some more ammo and pick up a lumberjack axe. There is also a bat and a hammer, but they don't do as much damage. Now get to the point.
Ash has to kill nine deadites. Eight of them are the same as before, easily dispatched with the rifle at a distance but one of them is a boss that will probably take most (or all) of the Shemp's Colas. This boss is highly resistant to ranged attacks, deals ranged damage, and spawns clones that close the gap on Ash fast. That means the only way to reasonably survive is by getting in close.
Kill the clones when they spawn, otherwise Ash will get surrounded. Only back off to use an amulet or drink another Shemp's Cola or if the boss begins to glow as this signifies a small area of effect damage about to go off.
Fight At The Third Objective
Before departing, go back to the open shed and get the fear meter emptied out. Then, get into the car and take the roads to the final location at the Fairview Campground. At where the 'C' is on the map, there is some more ammunition and a Shemp's Cola (as well as a handaxe that is a severe downgrade from the current axe, leave it alone).
After getting to the final objective, start by clearing out the three regular deadites. Stay mobile until it's only the boss left. This final boss has only three moves to watch out for and once they are understood, it's pretty simple. It will teleport to an area close to Ash. If Ash doesn't get away, it will try a melee attack. If Ash does get away, it will fire a rapid ranged attack that is tough to dodge. However, it can easily be blocked by getting behind one of the campers.
The player should get into a simple pattern. After the boss teleports, run behind a camper, wait for the ranged attack to fire, then get a few shots in with the rifle. Then the boss will port close to Ash again, just repeat the pattern until it's down. Congratulations on beating this tough mission!
