With increased health and melee damage, warriors make it difficult for a deadite to come out with a win in Evil Dead: The Game. Taking one out feels takes a lot of focus and resources. With a team at the back of the warrior, this can be an impossible task.

The exception is if players are using a character that isn't optimized for the task. Player preference is always the most important factor in Evil Dead: The Game, but there are some warriors that deserve a little bit more consideration than the rest of their colleagues.

3 Scotty

Evil Dead The Game Playing As Scotty In Multiplayer

Ability

Effect

Thunder Thrust

When activated, this explosive special move damages all enemies in the surrounding area.

Collateral Damage

Your heavy melee attacks inflict additional damage to nearby enemies.

Exposure Therapy

Partially reduces your fear levels with each enemy you kill.

Weapon Master: Lumberjack Axe

The lumberjack axe has a faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage.

Scotty does as good a job as anybody when it comes to dealing area damage with a cleave ability and his Thunder Thrust that deals damage all around. But after playing several games, it's clear that moments of being surrounded are not commonplace enough for Storry to shine.

He's dragged down by a reliance on heavy attacks that, too often, set up the character for a quick attack. The exception here is if he uses a lumberjack axe to speed things up, but a reliance on a particular weapon that may or may not drop at the desired rarity is too much risk. He can do well if he invites a group of friends to help him out, but he's not a game-changer.

2 Ash Williams (Army Of Darkness)

Evil Dead The Game Playing As Ash Williams (Army Of Darkness) In Multiplayer

Ability

Effect

Wiseman's Potion

When activated, this ability will grant you health regeneration, fear reduction, increased damage dealing, and reduction of damage received.

Shield Blast

Each time your shield loses a bar, it triggers an explosion, damaging nearby enemies.

Finish Strong

After Ash kills an enemy with a finisher he recovers part of his shield bar.

Weapon Master: Chainsaw

The chainsaw has a faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage.

Ash Williams in warrior form is an interesting character with a very specific playstyle. His goal is to invest heavily in shields and regenerate them with killing finishing moves. It's tough to count on a killing blow through a finisher, though it happens often enough to make the strategy viable.

He counts on enemies hitting him and damaging themselves through the Shield Blast. Any excess damage can be taken care of with Wiseman's Brew. His preference for a chainsaw is tough in multiplayer matches, but have friends across consoles watch out for one such item to drop and he'll be in business.

1 Henry The Red

Evil Dead The Game Playing As Henry The Red In Multiplayer

Ability

Effect

Unstoppable

Activating this ability temporarily prevents damage to health or shield.

Shields Up

Start the match with an additional shield bar.

Rebound

Reflects a percentage of the damage you receive back onto your attacker.

Battle Hardened

Increases maximum health and shield bar length.

Henry the Red is the big dog everyone is looking for in a pack. As a warrior, he does what everyone needs him to do. The guy is a legitimate tank, absorbing hit after hit as deadites literally kill themselves trying to take him out. Plus, he's not locked in to relying on any specific melee weapon, he can take the best available.

His active ability, Unstoppable, will prevent him from taking any damage for a full seven seconds every minute. That might not sound like a big deal, but think of all the moments when the survivors need to knock out an objective that puts them in danger. Henry the Red can take the bulk of the work without needing to worry about his own well being.

Evil Dead: The Game was released on May 13th, 2022, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
