Evil Dead is a franchise with one of the most faithful fanbases out there. It’s no surprise that with the release of Evil Dead: The Game, the title would be brimming with an abundance of Easter eggs, references, and game mechanics that fit perfectly within the Evil Dead world.

The game has great content for any type of fan or player, offering co-op, PvP, and even a solo Evil Dead adventure. With so many iconic franchise characters, both good and not so good, it’s no surprise that things can become overwhelming for beginners, with many things still to discover.

7 Play With Friends With Crossplay

As well as being available on both last-gen and current-gen consoles, players won’t be restricted to lobbies of their specific console since the game proudly boasts of crossplay support. This feature has been available since day one, which means that it doesn’t matter if a player's friends are on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC as they can all join in on the fun.

The ability to play with friends across platforms is something most games should strive toward. It allows for more accessible and fun lobbies since everyone is invited to the Deadite party. This feature will bode well for the game’s future since more players mean more fun for everyone.

6 Fear Is The Mind Killer

In this 4v1 PvP game, one person will take on the role of the Kandarian Demon. They can place traps and Deadites, possess objects, and instill fear into the human players.

These "dungeon masters" will soon realize that fear is a great and powerful mechanic. Through multiple ways, they can build fear into players, which causes them to be weaker and slower. Build that fear up through jump scares, traps, and Deadites, and very soon the demon player will have a fleshy meat puppet of their own to toy with.

With fear at its maximum in a hero, the demon will be able to possess them and take the opportunity, whilst able, to attack and sabotage the other players. Demon players can either delay the team from their objective or try and kill them off for good.

5 Light Is Your Ally

Human players will inevitably find that as their fear meter builds up to dangerous levels, their startled character will become less effective than usual; therefore, they will most definitely want that bar to stay low, and even more so, keep it from rising to its highest potential. Support is essential to human survival.

The best way to do this is to keep close to a light source. Light sources like lamps and campfires will calm the characters and will make sure that no evil can possess their terrified body. Nobody wants to be possessed anyway, so why not take a breather by a campfire.

4 You Can Groove In Solo

Saber Interactive has made sure that every Evil Dead fan is satisfied with the way their game works. Some players don’t enjoy PvP for the specific reason of competitive play, or they just don’t like losing. Who does? To make sure everyone can have a good time, Evil Dead: The Game players can access solo content in which AI will control the demon player.

The benefit of these accessibility options is that the player can choose just how they want to experience the game. If someone wants to level up and get used to the mechanics on their own terms, they can do just that. Playing solo can be a great way to learn and improve.

3 Use The Fog

As the game progresses, and time becomes of the essence, the map will shrink, and the player will be restricted to a smaller area of the map. This feature is much like the Battle Royale game, Fortnite, in which players should keep away from the storm and fog to not take fatal damage.

As the demon player, the most effective way to cause a ruckus amongst the human players is to instill fear into them so that you can possess them. Instead of taking them on, or delaying their mission. Why not take a stroll through the fog and let the fog do the damage? The player will be down, and can’t be revived due to being out of the zone.

2 Resurrect Your Crew

Don’t give up hope if a crew member dies as their friends can run over to the recently deceased body and pick up the character’s soul. From here, they can find an Altar and perform a resurrection ritual.

This is an important feature that players should be aware of. It will stop other parties from leaving the game too early if they try to lone-wolf and die, or if they were unfortunate enough to be the target of a demon. Reviving and resurrecting players is essential to victory, where every player counts.

1 The Powerful Flutist

Players on the demon side have the option of one of three factions. The one that certainly looks the coolest is the Army of Darkness crew, which has Evil Ash as The Necromancer and a skeleton crew. One of the abilities of this class is to summon a skeleton flutist that cannot be possessed or moved but can greatly buff the demon’s characters, to deadly effect.

Fear not, human players, as you too can counter the effects of the flutist. Simply follow the sounds of the charming flute playing to find the miscreant, and kill them a second time to stop the music, and to remove the buff from the Deadites.

Evil Dead: The Game is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
