Evil Dead's Ash Williams has become an iconic slasher-horror character due to Bruce Campbell's portrayal, which chaotically blends cheeky bravado with quirky frivolity. Both Ash Williams and actor Bruce Campbell have been prolific in games, such as Ash's DLC additions to Dead by Daylight, or Campbell's narration in the Spider-Man trilogy adaptations, which were inspired by Sam Raimi's films.

The way that Ash approaches the obstacles ahead of him makes him incredibly hilarious and empathetic, especially because he often finds himself in horrific circumstances or in a location and time period he is unfamiliar with. As true as this is about Raimi's Army of Darkness, one fan has recently edited a funny video that represents what Ash's experiences could be if he took the place of protagonist Ethan Winters in Resident Evil Village.

YouTube user eli_handle_b.wav has spliced scenes from Army of Darkness and Evil Dead 2 into Resident Evil Village to recreate the game's moments with funny reactions from Ash Williams. Armed with only a "boomstick" and his wits, Ash finds himself this time in Resident Evil Village's Eastern European village. Ash screams in response to the lycan jump-scare from within one of the village's homes, and in perfect Ash fashion, he then flirts with Lady Dimitrescu while she suspends him on the wall.

Ash races away from Resident Evil Village's terrifying baby creature as it pursues him in Evil Dead's classic POV shot. Ash's sanity is questioned as he finds himself in House Beneviento with all of Beneviento's laughing, animated dolls, and begins laughing hysterically himself. Ash stabs Beneviento's doll, Angie, and taunts "Who's laughing now?" before he hacks at it out of frame with the wrist-mounted chainsaw that replaces his hand.

Finally, Ash is puked on by the mutated Moreau, and he hops into Chris Redfield's chainsaw tank to fire upon Resident Evil Village's Heisenberg. The video ends with Ash falling helplessly into Heisenberg's machine as he does when he falls into the portal at the end of Evil Dead 2, which ultimately sends him to the Middle Ages and sets up the foundation for Army of Darkness.

These responses and reactions from Ash are hilarious interpretations of how the character would behave had he been in Ethan's shoes. While Ash is not officially part of Resident Evil Village, fans are about to receive the ultimate love letter to the character when the official Evil Dead: The Game releases next month.

Resident Evil Village is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
