However, within the Castlevania games franchise, Richter Belmont is a recurring character known for his unique main weapon, a sacred whip, his special item crash abilities, and his unwavering sense of justice.

As the descendant of Simon Belmont, one of the original protagonists of the game franchise, he is shown to be one of the youngest Belmont members featured within the game series and faces the perils his predecessors had. He is a fierce, hot-headed, and fervent vampire hunter who serves to carry on the Belmont legacy.

6 Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood

This game marks Richter Belmont’s debut as a protagonist and is the tenth installment in the franchise. The main premise of the game is that Count Dracula has been resurrected by a cult led by a malevolent priest who sacrifices innocent girls for his own schemes.

The game features four total hostages that need to be saved from Count Dracula, one of which is playable after her rescue as the other main playable character in the game. This game also marks a change in abilities through Richter Belmont, which opts for “item crashes,” which are special abilities from the character’s sub-weapons that release a powerful attack. This game also marks a difference in introducing a more linear, stage-oriented gameplay.

5 Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night

Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night is the direct sequel to Rondo Of Blood, and it is set 5 years after the closing events of the previous game. It opens with the final boss fight of Rondo of Blood and Richter’s success. However, Richter disappears following this fight and subsequent reappearance of Castlevania. Alucard, reawakened, is the main playable character of the game. After beating the game with Alucard, the player can replay the entire game up until the fight with the evil priest Shaft if the player enters the name ‘RICHTER’ in the Name Entry screen.

Playing the game as Richter gives the player different stats and strong abilities available only to him; however, Richter is not able to explore the entire map due to areas only being able to be reached by playing Alucard. The subsequent events of what happens to Richter Belmont are explored in a Japanese-only internet radio drama entitled Nocturne of Recollection, wherein Richter uptakes the sacred whip again to hunt against vampires.

Set in 1944 in Europe, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin follows a vampire hunter, Jonathan Morris, and a sorceress, Charlotte Aulin. Jonathan Morris, while being a vampire hunter, is unable to fully use the Vampire Killer whip, which was Richter Belmont’s main weapon.

Richter Belmont is an important battle within the game as Morris travels through the Whip’s Memory to fight the last full Belmont to wield the whip in order to awaken the full potential of the weapon in Morris’ own timeline. Richter Belmont’s battle and subsequent defeat marks the point where the player gains one of the most powerful weapons within the game.

A puzzle mobile game in the franchise, Castlevania Puzzle: Encore Of The Night features Richter Belmont as an opponent within the story mode and also as a playable character in arcade mode. The game is essentially a re-telling of Symphony Of The Night using different gameplay strategies. The familiar premise within this installment is that following Richter Belmont’s success against Count Dracula, he has mysteriously vanished, and it is up to the player to find him using sorceress Maria Renard and Alucard.

The game features puzzle game elements combined with roleplay that allows players to take different paths through the story. The game also includes an experience system that lets players to allocate XP points to different characters and their stats to customize their playing experience.

The multiplayer mode allows up to six players, and the game itself features downloadable content that features more characters from the franchise.

In Harmony Of Despair, there is a grimoire that holds the entire story of Castlevania. However, the grimoire turns out to be cursed, and thus, the story pages start coming to life alongside all of the enemies and heroes. Richter Belmont is one of the available downloadable characters within the game where he uses the whip Vampire Killer, the Belmont sub-weapons, and martial arts to defeat enemies.

Richter Belmont is only a support character within this game via a summon-like ability. He has a variety of abilities that focus on his whip and martial abilities, similar to Harmony Of Despair. This game was originally released for iOS and Android and then re-released for Apple Arcade.
