Assassin's Creed is known for their stories that takes players to different eras in history. Examples of this can range from the American Revolution to Ancient Greece. On top of the story, the games are also known for their amazing locations throughout the world. While taking players through the different eras, players are able to take part in events that show the death of historic figures -- often the antagonist of the game.

Players are able to see all of the work the Assassins did to weaken the Templars pay off by the end of the game. Often times, players are given a supernatural explanation at the end of each game.

13 A Fresh Start

The player as they confront Aspasia

This mission takes place in Odyssey and has the player confront the last member of the Cult of Kosmos. When players go to the Sanctuary of Kosmos, they are greeted by the lover of Perikles, Aspasia. It is revealed she was behind the Cult of Kosmos and all of the missions the player was sent on.

Players can go through a dialogue tree, choosing to let Aspasia live or die. Afterwards, the protagonist destroys the device in the center of the Sanctuary of Kosmos. Without much fighting going on and with the choice of the player being open, it does not feel like a true Assassin's Creed ending.

11 How Grand, Master Kenway!

Edward Kenway in the opera house with his children

Black Flag's ending is probably one of the more happier of the series. Edward Kenway is reunited with his daughter -- who he never met -- and sails back for London with her. The only real gameplay for this memory is sailing back to England, with the rest of the memory being cutscenes.

Brutus as he is about to stab Caesar

This is a memory from Origins that shows the assassination of Julius Caesar. Players play as Aya as she sneaks through Rome on her way to Caesar. It starts as a ship battle, where the player must destroy a couple of ships.

After making it to Rome, Aya must fight and kill Septimius before she can continue on. After making it to the Senate, Aya is prompted to stab Caesar after confronting him. This will cause the other senators to join in, recreating the assassination of Caesar before the player's eyes.

9 Assassination (Al Mualim)

Al Mualim after dropping the Apple of Eden

The last memory for the first Assassin's Creed game requires the player to kill the Assassin Mentor, Al Mualim. After killing all of the main targets of the game, it is revealed that Al Mualim betrayed the order and used the Apple of Eden to his advantage.

The player has to fight the former Master Assassin, bringing an end to his life. After defeating the master, Altaïr cannot bring himself to destroy the Apple of Eden, keeping it for himself. This also meant that Altaïr had become the Mentor of the Levantine Assassins.

7 Erudito

Aveline after stabbing her stepmother

Erudito is the true ending of Liberation, being unlocked after killing Citizen E. Players might think the game ends with Aveline joining the Templar Order, but this was a trick by Abstergo to make the Templars look good. In reality, Aveline fought the Templars and killed the Master.

It is revealed the Master Templar is Aveline's stepmother. The player fights in a small church, fending off guards as they go after the Master. Aveline will take the Prophecy Disk and watch a message that was recorded by the First Civilization.

6 A Seed

Ezio as he walks out of the vault underneath the Colosseum

The final memory for Brotherhood technically takes place before the fight between Ezio and Cesare Borgia. Despite this, A Seed is the last memory the player plays in the game. Ezio hides the Apple of Eden underneath the Santa Maria in Aracoeli.

It ends with Ezio walking away from the Colosseum. This sets up for the modern-day mission where Desmond Miles and the team go and locate the Apple of Eden.

2 The Temple

Arno walking through Paris with flowers in his hand

The last memory of Unity is a somewhat sad one. Arno Dorian finds where Germain is hiding and goes to hunt him down. Élise comes with him, but ends up being killed by Germain. Arno gets his revenge and kills Germain, but not before his lover is killed.

The rest of the memory has Arno walk through the streets of Paris as he reflects on his beliefs. He is revealed to be a Master Assassin now, and the reflection stops as Arno lays flowers on Élise's grave. Years after this battle, Arno goes into the temple with Napoleon, moving Germain's remains into the catacombs.

Ezio comes face to face with Desmond Miles

The ending of Revelations has Ezio actually speak to Desmond. Ezio returns to the Library of Altaïr with the memory seals, locating the skeleton of Altaïr and his Apple of Eden. The Apple activates, bringing Ezio face to face with Desmond.

Ezio passes on a message to Desmond on how to save the world from a solar flare. This sets up the next game, while also bringing an end to the Ezio trilogy.
