While still over a year away from its big release, Evangeline Lilly is already saying that Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be the best Ant-Man film to date.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will reunite audiences with Lilly, Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas' Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne while introducing Kathryn Newton's Cassie Lang and Bill Murray in an undisclosed role. Lilly first joined the MCU as Hope van Dyne in 2015's Ant-Man, eventually teaming up with Rudd's Ant-Man and becoming the Wasp in 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp.

In an interview with The Digital Fix, Lilly opened up about working on Ant-Man 3, sharing that among all the difficulties caused by the pandemic, she believes what she and the entire crew were able to accomplish will result in the best Ant-Man film yet. "Film sets are already impersonal enough, there is so much that goes on and so much that has to get done in a short amount of time, and the intensity level is really, really high. So it was a very trying experience doing the film with Covid measures," Lilly said. "But I actually think…what we did, the stuff we shot, the material we managed to get, I think it might be the best one yet."

Ant-Man Wasp Kang The Conqueror

Lilly's comments aren't the first time she has praised the upcoming MCU film. She recently spoke highly of Ant-Man 3's script, which was penned by Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness. Ant-Man 3's predecessors were met with much praise, especially towards the comedic relief and overall lighter tones. However, it seems that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may just be the strongest film out of the three by raising the stakes and pushing the characters into exciting new territories, especially with the cosmic direction it is headed in.

While many details have been kept under wraps, what is known about Ant-Man 3 is that it will center around more of the Quantum Realm and feature Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror as the main antagonist, who briefly appeared in Loki's finale. Majors became an instant favorite for his villainous portrayal, with many believing him to be a worthy follow-up villain to Thanos who will surely have dire consequences for the future of the MCU.

Even Rudd shared his praise for where Majors is taking the character, adding that he is becoming an exciting addition to the MCU for many fans to keep their eye on. Those who watched Loki know that Ant-Man 3's version of Kang will be more sinister than the character Majors portrayed in the Disney Plus series.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to arrive in theaters on July 28, 2023.
