Actor Javon Walton teases the future of his character, Ashtray, in the upcoming third season of HBO's hit drama, Euphoria. Walton's character, Ashtray, has proven himself to be an impulsive protector, fiercely loyal to his adopted brother Fezco- who have both been selling drugs since they were kids in order to survive.

In Euphoria season 2, fans see Ashtray and Fezco still having to deal with the consequences of Ashtray killing the top drug dealer, Mouse. As a result, in the Euphoria season 2 finale, Mouse’s previous partner, Custer, tries to set up Fezco in order to make sure he takes the fall for the murder. Ashtray of course reacts without thinking or barely blinking, stabbing Custer directly in the throat, right before a terrifying police raid. Ashtray then locks himself in the bathroom, with a whole collection of machine guns. As Ashtray fires at the police, he accidentally ends up wounding Fezco and is thus presumed to be killed off-camera.

However, despite Ashtray's supposed death, Walton is teasing fans now with the possibility that all hope may not be lost. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Walton clarifies the fate of Ashtray for the upcoming Euphoria season 3. He stated, “Well you see him get arrested, so I’m sure he is going to be in the back of a cop car. And with Ashtray, we’re not 100 percent if he’s dead, because you saw absolutely no blood right? And you didn’t see him fall, you did hear the bullet, but you didn’t see him get shot. So, there’s little things that could potentially bring him back for another season.”

Ashtray's past was finally revealed through a flashback in season 2, showcasing Fezco rocking baby Ashtray to sleep after his biological mom abandoned him with Fezco's drug-lord of a grandma and never once came back for him. Since then, the only family Ashtray has known is Fezco, after their grandma ended up in a coma from a drug overdose that left her unconscious for most of his childhood. Their grandma taught Fezco everything he knows about selling drugs, how to turn a profit, and how to handle the constant danger that comes with dealing with some of the most elite drug dealers in the game. He got his nickname because as a young baby he would bum the burnt-leftover cigarettes his grandma smoked right from the ashtray and finish them like a bottle of milk.

Season 2 not only revealed Ashtray's childhood trauma and upbringing, but how quick and reckless he is in his actions as a result of growing up in such a paced-face, survival driven lifestyle. Anyone who dares to resemble somewhat of a possible threat to Ashtray is taken care of immediately without thought or hesitation - finger on the trigger. In Euphoria season 2 alone, fans witness Ashtray beat and capture Cal when he comes to get answers about his son, Nate Jacobs, who Fezco assaulted at the very beginning of the season.

Walton truly believes that Ash has the possibility to live, that he has so much life inside him. Fans were absolutely devastated to witness the fall of one of the two brothers, especially when they only have one another in this world. Walton was just recently cast in the third season for The Umbrella Academy and fingers crossed fans will also catch him on the third season of Euphoria.

Euphoria seasons 1-2 are now available on HBO Max.
