Many Marvel Studios projects have been bombarded with cameo rumors leading up to their releases, and that is no different with Disney Plus' Moon Knight. Now, star Ethan Hawke has addressed the growing speculation of other beloved heroes like Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Mahershala Ali's Blade making an appearance in the series.

Whether it was the rumors of Spider-Man: No Way Home featuring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's live-action web-slingers (which turned out to be true) or word that the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated to include a wide array of characters from Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool to Fox's X-Men, there will always be rumored appearances for many Marvel Sudios projects. And with Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac recently fueling rumors of his characters teaming up with the Hulk, it's difficult to stop the speculation.

Sitting down as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Hawke, who plays the series' main antagonist, Arthur Harrow, addressed the rumored appearances, first starting with Ruffalo's Hulk. "That would be cool, right? That would be cool. Except I know Mark Ruffalo, and I think if we were in the same show, he would have at least texted me or something," Hawke said. "So I don’t think that one’s got a lot of legs. [Audience groans ] I know, I know. Maybe in another one!"

The topic then shifted to Ali's Blade, a character who was already featured in one of Eternals' post-credits scenes. "Oh. They think I’m being secretive...that whole Spider-Man stuff," Hawke said. "That’s right. Exactly. Yeah. All right, there’s a fan theory that Blade will appear in “Moon Knight," Fallon said, to which Hawke responded, "Oh, stop." Fallon would continue, adding, "Now you’re playing -- Now you’re just playing with me. Would you have got a text from Blade?" Hawke then shared, "Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know. I wish Blade was there. That would have been cool." Fallon then concluded with, "Okay. You’re good."

While there's no telling what's true, especially when looking back at Andrew Garfield denying his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home for months, it is possible that Ruffalo is in Moon Knight and Hawke just isn't aware, since the two probably didn't share scenes with one another and that Marvel boss Kevin Feige strives to keep every story detail as secretive as possible. Whatever turns out to be the case, Moon Knight will no doubt stand on its own as one of the MCU's most exciting and unique projects.

As for Hawke's character, the actor was originally hesitant to portray Moon Knight's main antagonist. But while this is Hawke's first time playing a villain in a comic book film, he is no stranger to delivering a darker, twisted performance. The actor will play the serial killer The Grabber in Blumhouse's The Black Phone, which is set for a theatrical release this summer. Even if Hawke hasn't had many experiences playing a villain, if his filmography is any indication, the actor will no doubt deliver one memorable performance that could rank as a new fan-favorite villain in the MCU.

Moon Knight debuts on Disney Plus on March 30, 2022.
