Eternals saw the introduction of many fascinating new heroes, including the powerful Gilgamesh played by Don Lee. While he died in that film at the hands of the villainous deviant, Kro, reports indicate that Lee may be returning as the Eternal for either a sequel or other Marvel Studios projects.

Eternals debuted to both praise and criticism, making it one of the most divisive MCU films to date. Nonetheless, the ensemble cast of characters endeared themselves toward even critics, meaning many are hoping the Eternals will play a big part in Marvel Studios' plans for the future.

According to recent reports from allkpop, Lee is reportedly returning as Gilgamesh for an upcoming Marvel Studios project, as sources say the actor is gearing up to fly to the U.S. this summer to film something MCU related. While it's unclear which project the deceased Eternal may appear in, there are a few options that make sense when it comes down to bringing the character back. While it has not been officially confirmed, an Eternals sequel could be the reason for Lee's return, as his co-star Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi in the first film, recently hinted at her return to the Marvel universe. What reports do indicate is that Armor Wars, Echo, Loki season 2, Ironheart, and Blade are all on track to begin filming sometime this summer, so perhaps Lee's character could somehow make an appearance in one of those projects

Perhaps Gilgamesh appearing in Loki is very likely since the first season deals with time travel and exploring many historic settings, as Gilgamesh has been around for thousands of years on Earth. Another option that is possible and one that has brought many past characters back is Lee returning to voice Gilgamesh in season two of Disney Plus' animated What If...? series. Exploring alternate realities, Gilgamesh may be featured in a story where his character survives, thus changing many of the outcomes seen in Eternals.

Once summer arrives and many of those Marvel Studios productions are underway, more details will most likely surface regarding where Lee will be featured next. In the meantime, fans can catch his performance as Gilgamesh in Eternals. The film centers on an immortal alien race that was created by the Celestials and has been living secretly on Earth for thousands of years. They finally have to reunite to stop their evil counterparts known as the Deviants.

While Eternals has become divisive amongst fans, director Chloé Zhao has added her unique, ambitious filmmaking style to create an MCU film that is both visually stunning and thematically challenging. Eternals also stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, and Lia McHugh as Sprite.

Eternals is now streaming on Disney Plus.
