Eternals actor Barry Keoghan was reportedly a victim of assault over the weekend after he was found outside of a hotel on Sunday morning. The injuries were described as "non-life-threatening" but still very "serious." Keoghan plays Druig in the upcoming Eternals film.

Keoghan returned to Ireland in order to film the Martin McDonagh film The Banshees of Inisherin, which also stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. While Keoghan was in Ireland, people have said they spotted him around the city and witnesses have said they saw him leaving a local bar on Saturday night. The Sunday World reports that the actor was found outside Galaway G's hotel in pretty bad shape the following morning.

He was rushed to Galway University Hospital, which had him treated for "serious" but "non-life-threatening" facial injuries. Right now investigations are still underway as to what happened to the Eternals and The Batman actor but expect more news to come out in the coming weeks. The only other piece of evidence that can be used is from the actor himself, which was a cryptic message on Instagram that read, "Note to self, I told yous. Sincerely, Your Intuition." Maybe something happened and he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. There's also a chance of intoxication being included as, again, he was spotted leaving a bar.

Hopefully, this is the last time fans hear of news about a star being assaulted. Celebrities aren't strangers to getting into altercations with fans or pedestrians, so this isn't an uncommon thing. Marvel Studios' Eternals has already finished filming and is slated to release in November, so Keoghan's work is concluded but he's still in the middle of production on a separate project in Ireland.

The character he plays, Druig, has super strength, stamina, telepathy, illusion, telekinesis, flight, cosmic energy, teleportation, and superhuman durability. Marvel Studios' Eternals tells the story of ancient aliens hiding amongst humans until they finally come out of hiding in order to battle the Deviants.

This follows the events of Avengers: Endgame and continues the storyline of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline. Many fans are expecting this to highlight some of Thanos' origin.

Eternals will be in theaters on November 5th, 2021.
