Battlestate Games' Escape from Tarkov is a first-person shooter that hybridizes survival elements and MMORPG qualities. It's currently in open beta and has already garnered quite a fandom behind it. The developers frequently wipe the servers, which reduces characters back to their starting point. As a result, Escape from Tarkov players have gotten used to repeatedly clearing the games' quests.

Among the required items for Tarkov quests are cans of thermite. While in the inventory, the "can of thermite" name is just shortened to "thermite." Two cans are required to build a Level 3 Workbench in your hideout. In addition, it can be traded for an ammo box and other useful items as well as crafting higher-tier bullets. Unfortunately, it's not very easy to find.

At a construction site to the south of the Water Treatment Plant

There are two bridges going north to the water treatment plant. There is a construction site just before the western bridge to the Water Treatment Plant. Thermite can be found on crates here. There is also a van that can be seen off the road from the construction site. The van is towing a car, between the van and the car there is also a spawn point for many items, Thermite included.

Types Of Item Loot Points To Look For

Generally speaking, it's better to know what types of loot points to look for as opposed to specific locations on the maps. There are four kinds of loot points that can have cans of thermite:

Technical Supply Crates

Technical Supply crates are five by five wooden crates that can be found on all maps in Escape from Tarkov. They are fairly large and have stickers on the long side on the top right. These can have Thermite in addition to electronic materials.

Buried Barrel Caches

Buried barrel caches are exactly what they sound like: buried barrels spread throughout all Escape from Tarkov maps. These are hard to spot, but can have all manner of loot inside. They are grayish-blue with just the top poking out above ground. They can have virtually all kinds of loot, and thermite is among the possible finds. Despite the fact that they're buried, players won't need to fully excavate the barrel to search it. Simply interact with the top of the barrel.

Ground Caches

Ground caches are crates hidden beneath leaves and tree branches. Like the buried barrel caches, they can have any kind of item inside. They are fairly hard to spot because of the camouflaging, but they still have a chance to contain thermite, so keep an eye out.

Dead Scavs

These deceased Scavs are dead before the raid even begins. Like the other cache varieties, they can contain just about any kind of item in Escape from Tarkov and can be found on any map. It's a crapshoot, but thermite can be found on these Scavs too.

Escape from Tarkov is currently in open beta and can be played on Windows platforms.
