Epic Games Store has released its new game for November 2, as well as confirmed what follows it next week (Golden Light). This means fans can no longer claim the October 26-November 2 games, which were The Evil Within 2 and Tandem: A Tale of Shadows, perfect fits for Halloween.

Now, Epic Games Store users can claim Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion until November 9. This action-adventure game is about a turnip who has proven to be a menace to society, one who must pay back a massive debt to Mayor Onion. Players can complete petty crimes, complete dungeons to find rewards (to be immediately taken by debt), battle massive beasts, destroy paper trails, and get one of multiple endings depending on how players approach their taxes.

Beginning November 9, users can check out the new game. Golden Light is a dark comedy survival-horror FPS prop hunt roguelike game, which sounds like a mouthful because it literally is. The game is a twist on the typical Prop Hunt game mode where props, instead, hunt the player. Players have to eat weapons across procedural levels, with randomized weapons, and procedural scares. Billed as a dark comedy as well, players must descend into the depths of the Gut, which is what it sounds like where the walls watch the player. Players must question their own minds as they come into contact with talking bicycles and talking dudes in toilets. Some examples of eatable items include Corrupted Fetus, Fish Head, and Meat Apple.

Epic Games Store Free Game List

  • Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (Nov 2 - Nov 9)
  • Golden Light (November 9 - 16)

Golden Light is like a combination of the past few games. It's an interesting horror title, one that would have fit right alongside The Evil Within 2, but it's also as absurd as Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. On Metacritic, it doesn't have enough critic reviews for an aggregate score, but the User Score is 7.4, indicating it is a mixed or average game. Whatever it is lacking, though, it seems to make up in pure absurdity.

Of course, if absurd is something someone wants in a game, they can expect new titles to be revealed next week. Epic Games Store is nothing if not methodical, meaning more info can be expected on November 9 at 10 a.m. CT.
