The Epic Games Store has officially revealed the latest free game as part of its mystery games promotion, which users of the platform can claim for their library right now. The Epic Games Store free mystery games promotion gives Epic Games Store users the chance to get a new free game each day in the lead-up to the new year. All users need to do is boot up the Epic Games Store launcher or visit the store page to claim their daily free game.

The Epic Games Store free mystery games this year have been lower profile than previous versions of the promotion, but there have still been some quality games for users to claim. The first Epic Games Store free mystery game was tower defense title Bloons TD 6, which was followed by Horizon Chase Turbo, Costume Quest 2, and Sable. The daily free game rotates out each day at 10:00am CT, which means Epic Games Store users now have another game to claim.

From now until tomorrow at 10:00am CT, Epic Games Store users can snag Them's Fightin' Herds for their collection. Better yet, Them's Fightin' Herds is just now making its Epic Games Store debut, meaning it is effectively a day one free game for the platform. For those unfamiliar with it, Them's Fightin' Herds is essentially what would happen if My Little Pony mixed with the fighting game genre, allowing players to battle it out as a variety of adorable characters.

Epic Games Store Free Mystery Games List

  • Bloons TD 6 (December 15)
  • Horizon Chase Turbo (December 16)
  • Costume Quest 2 (December 17)
  • Sable (December 18)
  • Them's Fightin' Herds (December 19)

The characters in Them's Fightin' Herds were actually designed by Lauren Faust, who is best known as the creator of the smash hit show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Despite its cuddly designs, though, Them's Fightin' Herds has been hailed as a respectable fighting game that more than holds its own in the genre. It offers local and online multiplayer options, including the beloved rollback netcode feature, so it should greatly appeal to fighting game fans, even if they're not necessarily a fan of Faust's previous work.

Epic Games Store users have until December 20 at 10:00am CT to claim Them's Fightin' Herds, at which point it will be replaced by the December 20 free game, whatever that may be. Epic Games Store users will need to return to the store tomorrow to claim their next free game.
