The Epic Games Store has released its free game for July 13, while revealing what fans can expect on July 20: Murder By Numbers and The Elder Scrolls Online. As of this writing, fans can no longer grab GRIME on the Epic Games Store, which was a combination of horror, Metroidvania, and Soulslike games, but they can grab July 13's Train Valley 2.

On July 20, Train Valley 2 will be replaced by Murder by Numbers and The Elder Scrolls Online. This fits into Epic Games Store's normal pattern of weekly rotations on Thursdays. Indeed, while the sometimes more surprising release schedule of Xbox Game Pass is welcome and the also-reliable PS Plus releases are great, it's the weekly nature of EGS that truly helps it stand out. After all, someone can be both excited for this week's Train Valley 2 and next week's titles

Murder by Numbers and The Elder Scrolls Online will be available from July 20 at 10 am CT to until July 27 at the same time. The former is an indie adventure puzzle game set in L.A, back in 1996. Players take on the role of Honor Mizrahi, who finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery after her boss turns up dead shortly after she was fired. Teaming up with SCOUT, a robot, fans will investigate a range of murders tied to a grand, dark conspiracy. Meanwhile, The Elder Scrolls Online really needs no introduction as the MMO lets players explore various sections of Tamriel, as whatever they want to be.

  • Train Valley 2 (July 13 - July 20)
  • Murder By Numbers (July 20 - July 27)
  • The Elder Scrolls Online (July 20 - July 27)

Of course, until July 20, fans will be able to claim Train Valley 2 on the Epic Games Store. It's rather niche given fans must like trains and simulation games to enjoy it, but those fans are in for a real treat regardless. Its combination of trains, tycoon-style gameplay, and puzzle solving is as solid as it comes, while the game is also complete with achievements, DLC add-ons, and more. And as always, if fans are not excited about it, they just have to wait a week for it to rotate out.

The sheer variety on display by EGS cannot be ignored either. Grime is a Metroidvania Soulslike, Train Valley 2 is a train tycoon game, Murder by Numbers is a murder mystery, and The Elder Scrolls Online is a huge MMO for a big AAA franchise. It seems safe to say the past few weeks has had a little bit of something for everyone.
