The Epic Games Store gives away new free games on a weekly basis, and whenever a new free game is released, next week's offerings are revealed. From now until Thursday, October 14 at 10:00am CT, Epic Games Store users can claim PC Building Simulator for their collection, and then when that's replaced on October 14, users will be able to claim two more freebies, including a game that's perfect for the Halloween season.

Starting October 14, Epic Games Store users can claim Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse for their digital library. Stubbs the Zombie is joined by Paladins: Epic Pack. While Paladins itself is technically a free-to-play game already, the Epic Pack gets players instant access to the Androxus, Raum, Tyra, and Ying champions, along with four special skins. Paladins: Epic Pack is not available on the Epic Games Store at the time of this writing, so it's unclear how much it will cost otherwise.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is a cult classic game that first released for the original Xbox in October of 2005. The game received a remaster earlier this year, bringing the fan favorite game to modern platforms. The Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse remaster includes some new bells and whistles, like improved graphics.

While Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is not a scary game, its premise still makes it a solid pick for the Halloween season. For those who may be unfamiliar with Stubbs the Zombie, the game puts players in the role of the titular Stubbs the Zombie as he eats brains. Humans that are unlucky enough to be attacked by Stubbs will potentially turn into zombies as well, allowing players to create their own hordes of undead.

Stubbs the Zombie's clever use of zombie tropes results in some interesting and unique gameplay opportunities not commonly found in many other titles. Aspects of the game were criticzed as being outdated in the remastered version, but it's still worth checking out for nostalgic fans or those who want a zombie game to play this Halloween season.

Paladins: Epic Pack and Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse will both be available on the Epic Games Store from October 14 to October 21 at 10:00am CT, at which point they will be replaced by new games. It's possible that the Epic Games Store free games will stick with a Halloween theme, but fans will just have to wait and see to find out for sure.
