Cooking plays a big part in Enshrouded's core gameplay experience, and you'll want to make better meals if you want to maximize your character's stats. Saffron is an ingredient that won't make an appearance until later in the early access version's early endgame phase, but it's invaluable for chefs who want to cook the best food at home.

Finding Saffron isn't that difficult, though it's commonly found in the same endgame region where players can get some of Enshrouded's best armor sets. If you're ready to take on the game's higher-leveled areas, here's where you need to go to get some of these spices.

Enshrouded: Saffron Location

You can pick some Saffron straight from their shrubs by going all the way to the Kindlewastes region, which is located east of the Cinder Vault. You'll have to upgrade your Flame if you want to survive the lethal Shroud in this area, though you can skip that with a bit of careful maneuvering over the mountains and canyons.

Saffron is found all over the desert. However, one of the most reliable spots to get some is just north of the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire. Once you've unlocked the tower's fast travel point, simply jump off the northern balcony and land on the spot indicated in the image above. From here, grab all the Saffron you find, and if you think you'll need more, reload your world and repeat the process.

How to Farm Saffron

You can literally farm Saffron by planting Saffron Seedlings, which are obtained by using a Seedbed. If you don't have a Seedbed yet, speak to the Farmer, and she'll craft one for you if you give her the materials she needs. After this, place the Seedbed somewhere outside, then place the following ingredients in it:

1x Water
1x Saffron
1x Fertilised Farm Soil

Seedbeds act much like other NPC-specific crafting stations like the Drying Rack or Furnace. Once you insert the right materials and pick the correct recipe, the Seedbed will automatically yield Saffron Seedlings after a few minutes.

When the seedlings are ready, pick them up and put them in your hotbar. Select them, then manually place them on suitable terrain. You'll want to place some Fertilised Farm Soil on the ground you want to plant in so your crops grow faster. If you know how to use a rake in Enshrouded, you can spread the Fertilised Farm Soil around and break bits of it off with a pickaxe. This gives you unlimited Fertilised Farm Soil for all your homesteading needs.
