The Crucible is a core component needed to advance the Blacksmith's crafting capabilities in Enshrouded. It's one of the main materials used to create a Smelter, which is where players will be doing all of their metal melting.

Enshrouded: Best Survivor Skills

While perhaps one of the less popular classes, there are plenty of Survivor class skills in Enshrouded to take note of. These are the best of them.

While crucibles can indeed be crafted, you'll first have to get one before you can unlock the recipe. Thankfully, the one that the Blacksmith asks you to find is relatively easy to find, and it just so happens to be in one of the best places to get copper in Enshrouded. Here's where you can find a crucible.

Enshrouded: Crucible Location

To get your first crucible, you'll need to visit the Mark of Sameth, a copper mine that's been taken over by Scavengers. Once you get the Crucible Needed For A Smelter quest from the Blacksmith, he'll mark the map with the exact location of this mine in Revelwood. Upgrade your Flame Altar to Lvl 3 so you can survive the Shroud in this region.

Once you reach the Mark of Sameth, you'll be greeted by plenty of hostile Scavengers. Deal with them however you want. After clearing the area, enter the mine entrance in the image above, then search the tunnels until you get to the silver chest. Beyond it is a caved-in chamber blocked by rubble. Dig the entrance up with a pickaxe to reveal the chamber containing a crucible and other goods. Pick the crucible up, then teleport back home.

How to Use The Crucible

A smelter in Enshrouded

Instead of being used like a Workbench, crucibles are only a part of a larger crafting station: the Smelter. After collecting the crucible from the Mark of Sameth, talk to the Blacksmith and have him craft a Smelter for you. Place the crafting station anywhere in your base, and it will automatically work with any of the materials you put in it as long as you have the right recipe set.

Smelters are needed to make useful gear. In Enshrouded, copper and iron are introduced later into the game, and the items you can make out of them are quite strong compared to similar-tier equipment commonly found in other titles in the same genre.

You don't necessarily have to create a full set of copper or iron gear in order to make meaningful progression, especially since you can farm gear in Enshrouded by opening chests scattered around the world. Still, you'll need a smelter to make better tools as well as furniture, which you'll need if you want to increase the duration of your Well-Rested buff.
