10 Borderlands 3
Released in 2019, Borderlands 3 is still a great game to play with friends and has plenty of content to last until the whole summer. There are millions of millions of guns in the game, with unique options tied to each different one the player gets. There are a ton of side quests, as well as a new game plus mode that allows the player to replay through the story mode several times on a harder setting. The game also offers both free and paid DLC that can be purchased individually or with the season pass.
9 Project Winter
Project Winter is the ultimate game of trust and betrayal. In each match, players will either spawn in as a survivor with various abilities or a traitor. The goal of the survivors is to complete multiple tasks while the traitors attempt to sabotage them without revealing their identity.
It's extremely fun to play with close friends as it makes for hilarious scenarios that can make or break precious friendships. It's truly a hidden gem that offers really high replay value with more updates to be added in the future.
8 Ultimate Chicken Horse
While it certainly has a strange name, Ultimate Chicken Horse is one of the best games to play with friends online or in person. It offers multiplayer for up to four players. The point of the game is to sabotage other players as they attempt to make it to the goal.
Players will set traps and other items to ensure their victory as well as work to prevent other players from winning. It's a ton of fun and one of the most hilarious games out at the moment, and it's recommended for fans of platformers or anyone looking to just play an extremely casual game that can get quite competitive at times.
7 Fortnite
The battle royale mode in Fortnite has seen massive changes since its release in 2017. Some players don't agree with many of the changes and have moved on to other games, but Fortnite still remains a great game to play with friends. Updates roll out a bit slower these days compared to previous seasons, but it offers so much content in its creative mode feature that allows players to enjoy community created maps. A new season is also on the way very soon with a brand new battle pass and new content.
6 Risk of Rain 2
Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person roguelike game that puts players against hordes of monsters. During the waves of monsters, players will find new equipment, abilities, and all kinds of loot to make them stronger. It gets pretty addicting as the player reaches the higher waves of enemies and unlocks powerful equipment.
The game allows for up to four players online and has a pretty cool progression system, with new characters to unlock that have unique abilities. With extremely high replay value, Risk of Rain 2 is a must-play for co-op gamers.
5 Minecraft Dungeons
Minecraft Dungeons is a hack and slash game similar to Diablo with online multiplayer allowing up to four players per session. It doesn't have a ton of content at the moment, but it will be getting more in the future. It does, however, offer tons of loot and harder difficulties for those looking for a challenge.
The Hero Edition of the game includes the DLC that will be added to the game in the coming months. Players can also find Minecraft Dungeons on the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
4 Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves is a game that can very much be played solo, but the experience that players get sailing alone is nothing compared to being on a crew with friends. The game has evolved a lot since its launch and has plenty of content for players of all skill levels and play styles.
In the game, players can embark on different expeditions to find all kinds of treasure that can be sold for in-game currency and award reputation to get all kinds of amazing rewards. However, players must be wary of the threats that will follow upon finding treasure such as skeletons, monsters, and, of course, opposing players looking to steal the treasure.
3 Diablo 3
Diablo 3 is pretty old now, but it is still kicking until the release of Diablo 4 sometime in the near future. The base game was met with a mixed reception, but it was greatly improved by the Reaper of Souls expansion.
It has tons of end-game content, with competitive seasons constantly changing and new features being added. Players can compete on the online leaderboard each season with rewards being given out at the end. It's still a great game for new players or returning veterans which offers high co-op replayability... though we don't know how long it will be until we see another numbered release in the franchise.
2 Halo: The Master Chief Collection
This collection is pretty much a must-buy, as it offers so much for a great price. Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes Halo 1 through Halo 4, as well as Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST. The games are slowly rolling out on PC at the moment, with only Halo: Reach, Halo 1 and Halo 2 available at the moment. The campaign and multiplayer are also a ton of fun to play with friends in preparation for the next game coming sometime later this year.
1 Call of Duty: Warzone
Warzone is one of the most popular games at the moment and is constantly getting new content. A new season is on the way that will add new operators as well as new weapons. It's playable with up to 4 players on a squad and offers a traditional battle royale mode, as well as Plunder where players must race against the clock to earn as much money in-game as possible by looting and eliminating other players.
