Tower defense games can be some of the most stressful experiences. That’s because there is typically a thing or person that players have to protect and it is game over if that thing/person dies. It’s like creating an entire genre based on escort missions. Endless Dungeon is the latest tower defense game to hit the scene which also splices in some roguelike elements.

Endless Dungeon: Beginner Tips and Tricks

Endless Dungeon can be difficult to clear, but even the meanest of challenges can be beaten with some foresight and a solid plan.

While it too can produce stress, one nice thing about it is that the game does not require collecting bullets or reloading for weapons. That’s a pretty great idea for a shooter and more companies should follow suit. Ideas aside, let’s focus on some of the best weapons in Endless Dungeon based on the four elemental properties.

8 Blinder

Hand Gun

  • DPS 10
  • Light
  • Strong Vs Blurs

Blinder is a fairly standard weapon in the game which operates like a typical pistol in other shooters. The only difference with this one is that it is imbued with the power of Light. Light-based weapons are good against Blurs, which are an enemy type that appears much later in the game. As such, they’re tricky to kill. One type of them can turn invisible and then reappear, making them hard to get rid of. For Light-based Hand Guns, Blinder will help dispel the darkness.

7 Photon Cannon

Heavy Gun

  • DPS 18
  • Light
  • Strong Vs Blurs

Photon Cannon is another Light-based weapon that will help fight off Blur invasions, which was maybe named after the Photon Torpedos from the Star Trek series. This weapon is a Heavy Gun type and it is more effective than the Blinder. It will shoot a concentrated laser blast at a rate faster than the standard Huntin’ Rifle, but not by much. It’s not as fast as other elemental Heavy Guns, but it will get the job done. Both of these Light-based weapons are ranked lower partly because Blurs aren’t as common early on in the game. They’re also not as fun to shoot as others.

6 Mobzapper

Heavy Gun

  • DPS 108
  • Electric
  • Strong Vs Robots

Mobzapper is where things start to get fun in Endless Dungeon. It’s a creative weapon that would not be surprising to see in the Ratchet and Clank series. This Heavy Gun is electric-based, which is an element that will rock the bolts off of robot enemies. Cartie would be a good Heavy Gun hero to use this weapon because she has strengths that boost electricity.

These fun strategy games combine RTS mechanics with elements of tower defense.

The performance is a lot like the Tesla Ball turret which gives off a series of static electricity against approaching enemies. The range is relatively short, which is a downside, but the arc of the static bolts will help with crowd control.

5 Metataser

Hand Gun

Metataser gun in Endless Dungeon
  • DPS 30
  • Electric
  • Strong Vs Robots

Metataser is not a weapon that will rip open the fabric of existence and pull in things to make Endless Dungeona meta experience. It is instead a Hand Gun with an electric-based power to it. The weapon operates like the Boomstick, which is a non-elemental Hand Gun that Bunker, a good robot hero, starts with. The Boomstick is like a shotgun and Metataser blasts out an electric cone of damage. Like most shotguns in games, the range of this weapon is short, but it is good for up close and personal kills.

4 Sparkler

Hand Gun

Sparkler gun in Endless Dungeon
  • DPS 47
  • Fire
  • Strong Vs Bugs

Sparkler is probably named after the firework, but it is a lot cooler and more deadly than that child’s plaything. This Hand Gun will shoot out sparks of fire in rapid succession. It operates a lot like the standard issue Sprayer, which is a Hand Gun type weapon used by the heroes Fassie, Shroom, and Sweeper. That’s a pretty good weapon on its own despite its lack of elemental power since the fire rate is so fast, but Sparkler is definitely better. Fire-based attacks are good against bug enemies which is also true for Bug-type Pokemon in the Pokemon series.

3 Pest Spray

Hand Gun

  • DPS 44
  • Acid
  • Strong Vs Blobs

Pest Spray seems like a weapon that would be good against bug enemies as well based on the name, but it isn’t. This Hand Gun instead is an acid-based weapon which is a type that is great against blobs. It sort of makes sense that acid would work on blobs since they look like they are made out of flesh and everyone knows that flesh can quickly be dissolved with some acid.

That’s probably a description more at home in a horror game that not a lot of players wanted to hear, but it is true. The Pest Spray will dish out a mist of acid to corrode away blobs within a short distance, but the mist will also spread which is nice.

2 Acid Hoser

Heavy Gun

Acid Hoser gun in Endless Dungeon
  • DPS 30
  • Acid
  • Strong Vs Blobs

Acid Hoser is the Heavy Gun equivalent to the Pest Spray as it is also an acid-based weapon. The name might fool players into thinking this is a firehose that shoots acid out instead of water like some kind of deranged firefighter made it. That’s not the case though as it operates a lot like the standard Gatling Heavy Gun, which is used by the aforementioned Cartie along with Comrade. The range on this one is greater and it has an incredibly high rate of fire even more so than the Sparkler. This weapon will make short work of any blob on screen in almost an instant.

1 Campfire

Heavy Gun

Campfire gun in Endless Dungeon
  • DPS 44
  • Fire
  • Strong Vs Bugs

Campfire may be an odd name for a gun, but it is without a doubt the best weapon in the game. It is fire-based, and unlike most Heavy Gun weapons in Endless Dungeon that shoot projectiles, Campfire is like a shield. It will create a fire ring that will envelop the character and anyone inside of it. Using the Campfire to protect the Crystal Bot when it is moving locations is a great strategy. It would have been cool to see more shield-like weapons in the game as it is a tower defense experience, but the exclusivity also makes the Campfire all the more special.
