The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood takes players to a new area in between Cyrodiil and Black Marsh. Fans of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion might find that some of the areas sound familiar such as Leyawiin and the Deadlands. New players get to experience a whole new area in The Elder Scrolls Online while longtime fans of The Elder Scrolls series get to see familiar areas in a different era.

Some of the best locations found in the game are those that are hidden. These locations might have treasures that players need or offer quests to get them. Here are ten locations in Blackwood that only experts can find.

10 Abandoned Cabin

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas Abandoned Cabin

A cabin that can be found in the northwest part of Blackwood. It’s overall abandoned and there’s nothing of value inside. There’s no note or anything written about the tenant that used to live here. If players look around the area, two Bod Dogs can be found wandering near the cabin. Behind the house is a skeleton of an Argonian and a drum next to it.

It can be assumed that maybe the Argonian was a bard or an aspiring bard that played the drums. Their instrument playing might’ve drawn the Bod Dogs to them and the bard was possibly killed by them. Sometimes a treasure chest or heavy sack be found here.

9 East Passage

The Sul-Xan are an Argonian group that is known for having violent members, kidnappings, and other criminal activities. Multiple camps of this group can be found throughout Blackwood, usually in unmarked areas.

One notable area they’ve taken over is the East Passage found on the eastern side of Blackwood. Any player that travels through it will have to fight their way out once they’re in. Many Sul-Xan members are inside the passage and there are guards on both ends outside of it.

8 Minotaur Camp

Minotaurs are usually found wandering around Cyrodiil by themselves. In the southeastern side of Blackwood, a Minotaur camp can be found. It is rare to see Minotaurs together let alone have their own home. While the buildings in their camp seem ruined, they’ve set up tents outside and have made it into their home.

No quest can be found here, but if players explore a little, a Skyshard can be found in one of the ruined buildings. Treasure chests and heavy sacks can also be found here.

7 Ruined Castle

Cyrodiil is known for its many keeps and castles. There have many noble families that have lived in the province throughout its history. Some have managed to survive and others have fallen. Throughout Blackwood, there are some ruins of noble homes. This castle can be found in the northwestern part of Blackwood. A Wispmother and Wisps can be found floating around the ruined area.

There can be dirt mounds found here and players can receive various items such Companion's Gear for their Companion, weapons, jewelry, and gold.

6 Shrine Of Nocturnal

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas Shrine of Nocturnal

It's been a while since players have heard from the Daedric Prince of Night and Darkness, Nocturnal. The last time she appeared was in The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset where she turned out to be the big villain of the main story. Her shrine can be found in the northwestern-central area of Blackwood and is a location on the map. It can be a little tough to find though. Players can talk to Nocturnal here and she will give them a mission to retrieve one of her artifacts.

If the main quest for Summerset is finished and the player asks her about the events, Nocturnal will tell them that she considers it a "petty quarrel." All she wants is her artifact returned to her and will favor the player if they retrieve it for her.

5 Aloysius Fulvianus' Final Request

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas Aloysius Fulvianus

A poor unfortunate man that met his end in the middle of nowhere. Aloysius Fulvianus' body can be found in an unmarked location in the middle of Blackwood with a note next to his body. The note is written by him and he asks whoever reads to give the letter to his betrothed, Tertia Falto. In the letter, he tells Tertia how he wished he could've seen her one last time and marry her, but he's afraid he'll hurt her while under "this curse."

The "curse" is implied to be lycanthropy since in the letter, he petted what appeared to be a dog. The dog bit him and Aloysius went to see an Argonian doctor in hopes of getting cured. The players can take his letter and ring to Tertia in Leyawiin.

4 Troll Island

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas Troll Island

While Trolls are a common sight in Cyrodiil, it's rare to find a Troll that has a home they use. In the central part of Blackwood, players can find a small island with a Troll wandering around a small cabin. If players kill the Troll or sneak into the cabin, a skeleton can be found there.

It can be assumed that someone might've been using this island as a fishing spot as there is a small dock not too far from the cabin. It's possible the Troll came upon the person and killed them then made the island its home.

3 White Stallion Inn

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas White Stallion Inn

This inn, which is a location on the map, can be found not too far from Leyawiin. No quests are here, but it is a possible location to meet a random NPC mage named Ylahizu the Magnificent.

Aside from possibly meeting Ylahizu, players might notice there are a lot of animals outside the inn. A few cats and dogs can be seen hanging out and they all have names, showing that they're owned. Inside the inn, there are more cats and dogs all over the place along with the Innkeeper.

2 Wispmother Island

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas Wispmother Island

If players travel to the most eastern part of Blackwood, a small island with a ruined building can be found here. A Wispmother and some Wisps can be seen wandering the area. Sometimes there are treasure chests that can be found in the building. Though it does seem a little odd to find a location so far from civilization, leaving explorers to wonder if the Wispmother is the spirit of the person who lived here.

1 The Deadlands

10 Hidden Blackwood Areas The Deadlands

One of the coolest things about The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood is that it's taking players back to the Deadlands. The Deadlands are the Oblivion Realm of the Daedric Prince of Ambition and Destruction, Mehrunes Dagon. This time around, Daedric Portals will show up randomly as players travel throughout Blackwood. Entering these portals will take players to the Deadlands and it's one of the public dungeons in the area. Similar to the Oblivion Gates in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, players will have to fight their way through Mehrunes Dagon's minions.

Because the portal moves everywhere, this dungeon will be very hard to find. Once players exit the realm, the portal will no longer be there and will need to be found again.
