A major part of the longevity of The Elder Scrolls Online is the player housing system, specifically the ability of players to fully customize every square inch of their homes. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of furnishings available in Elder Scrolls Online that can either be bought from vendors, earned from achievements, or uncovered with the Antiquities system.

Out of all of the many furnishings in Elder Scrolls Online, though, some stand out for their originality, their humor, what they reference, or just for the sheer beauty and quality of the piece. Many of these items can only be acquired by Scrying and Excavating, so be prepared to catch those skills up in anticipation of acquiring the best furnishings in ESO.

Redguard Table, Game

  • Requires: Blueprint, Woodworking (Potency 4, Solvent 3, Woodworking 7)
  • Cost/Materials: 11 Heartwood, 8 Mundane Rune, 7 Alchemical Resin, 15 Starmetal, 3 Mastic

The Redguard Game Table is a simple piece of furniture that fits right at home in just about any home. It's an octagonal table made of wood featuring an elaborately decorated surface resembling a tabletop game board.

It requires players to have a few skills in Woodworking developed as well as a good chunk of Heartwood, Mundane Runes, and Starmetal. The result is one of the best-looking side tables in all of The Elder Scrolls Online.

Argonian Snakes on a Rope

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Argonian Snakes on a Rope
  • Requires: Design, Provisioning (Recipe Improvement 2)
  • Cost/Materials: 4 Decorative Wax, 5 Flint, 20 Flour

Argonian Snakes on a Rope is a furnishing that looks exactly like its name suggests – a big rope with a bunch of snakes dangling at the bottom, attached in a knot. It's a furnishing that will have your guests wondering what on earth you did to acquire it, though it's actually a pretty simple crafting process.

It's learned from a Provisioning Design that can be found either by pickpocketing NPCs around Tamriel or by purchasing the Design from the Crown Store for 10 Crowns. It only requires 4 Decorative Wax and 5 Flint as well as 20 Flour, all ingredients one can get without hardly any effort.

Waterfall, Small Everlasting

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Waterfall Small Everlasting
  • Requires: Summerset DLC, "Divine Magistrate" Achievement
  • Cost/Materials: 75,000 Gold

The Small Everlasting Waterfall is a beautiful floating furnishing that features a small waterfall that seemingly originates from nothing and rushes over a rocky edge to fade into nothingness once more. It's a magical item that is sure to draw attention, but you'll need to complete a tedious Achievement, first.

The Achievement "Divine Magistrate" is earned by completing 30 assignments from Justicar Tanorian in Summerset, which can take a fair bit of time to complete. After this, though, head to Alinor and find Tarmimn, the Achievement Furnisher, to buy this furnishing for a whopping 75,000 Gold.

Rune-Carved Mammoth Skull

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Rune Carved Mammoth Skull
  • Requires: Greymoor DLC, Antiquities Skill
  • Lead Location: Mammoths in The Rift (Legendary)

The Rune-Carved Mammoth Skull is a massive trophy featuring the skull of a dead Mammoth with gold carvings and decorations adorning its bony horns. It's one of the coolest-looking trophies in the game, but be prepared to spend a long time farming Mammoths to find the Lead to this furnishing.

Found as a reward from the Antiquities system, players must Scry the Lead for the Rune-Carved Mammoth Skull then find its excavation site within The Rift. The Lead drops from Mammoth mobs in The Rift, a hard enemy type to miss when roaming the Autumnal forests of the area.

Deadlands Gems, Levitating

Elder Scrolls Online Deadlands Best Furniture Gems Levitating
  • Requires: Formula, Alchemy (Potency 6, Solvent 8) and Jewelry (Engraver 2), Deadlands DLC
  • Cost/Materials: 12 Alchemical Resin, 10 Mundane Rune, 6 Ochre, 16 Daedra Heart

The Deadlands DLC added a bunch of stunning furnishings plucked straight out of Oblivion, including the Levitating Deadlands Gems. This craftable furnishing is animated and features a variety of multicolored gems suspended in mid-air, perfect to add an air of magical mystery to a corner of a player's home.

The Formula for the Levitating Deadlands Gems can be found on any mob or in any bootable container in Fargrave (including pickpocketing and stealing from NPCs). It requires a fair bit of ingredients and requires skills in both the Alchemy skill tree and the Jewelry skill tree, as well as ownership of the Deadlands DLC to get to Fargrave in the first place.

Carved Whale Totem

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Carved Whale Totem
  • Requires: Greymoor DLC, Antiquities skill
  • Lead Location: All mobs in Eastmarch (Legendary)

The Carved Whale Totem is another furnishing only acquirable from the Antiquities system, specifically in Eastmarch. It's a beautiful, ornate Opal statue carved with intricate Celtic-inspired designs befitting the Nordic roots of the artifact.

Look for the Lead to the Carved Whale Totem in Eastmarch, where there is a small chance for it to drop from any mob in the zone (as well as from Thieves' Troves).

Wood Elf Union Trellis

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Wood Elf Union Trellis
  • Requires: Hero of Frond and Leaf Achievement
  • Cost/Materials: 15,000 Gold

The Wood Elf Union Trellis is a furnishing taken straight out of the forests of Lothlorien of the Lord of the Rings series, a major inspiration for the Bosmer people of the Elder Scrolls series. This trellis features two trees that have grown together to form a lattice pattern with their branches, resulting in a striking decoration that suits just about every garden.

The Wood Elf Union Trellis requires players to earn the Hero of Frond and Leaf Achievement. To get this Achievement, complete the Zone quest Restore the Silvenar in Malabal Tor, near Valenwood. Then, head to Vulkwasten and speak with Athrahgor, the Achievement Furnisher, to buy this trellis for 15,000 Gold.

Dwemer Star Chart

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Dwemer Star Chart
  • Requires: Greymoor DLC, Antiquities Skill
  • Lead Location: Chests and all mobs in Bthzark, Stros M'Kai (Legendary)

The Dwemer Star Chart is a furnishing that more closely resembles a hologram from Star Wars than it does a feature in a high fantasy RPG. The Dwemer were incredibly advanced, though, and this animated, floating image is a vision into the lost civilization's knowledge of astronomy.

As an Antiquities furnishing, look for the Lead to the Dwemer Star Chart in chests and on mobs in Bthzark, a Dwemer Ruin on the Hammerfell island of Stros M'Kai.

Echoes of Aldmeris

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Echoes of Aldmeris
  • Requires: Greymoor DLC, Antiquities skill
  • Lead Location: Chests in Auridon (Legendary)

The Echoes of Aldmeris is a large multi-paneled painting that depicts the lost civilization of Aldmeris as the High Elven people no doubt would like to remember their legendary past. It's a gorgeous piece of art in its own right, though placing it aesthetically is difficult if one doesn't own equally ornate furnishings to surround it with.

The Lead to the Echoes of Aldmeris Antiquity is found in Auridon, the starting zone for members of the Aldmeri Dominion. Look in chests throughout the zone and in Pack Merchant Bags for a small chance to find this Lead.

The Motionless Guardian

Elder Scrolls Online Best Furnishings Furniture Motionless Guardian
  • Requires: Clockwork City DLC, Honorary Blackfeather Achievement
  • Cost/Materials: 12,000 Gold

The Motionless Guardian is, by all accounts, a decrepit Clockwork scarecrow barely worth being used as a training dummy. However, to the Crows of the Blackfeather Court, it's a terrifying foe that none can best. In the main story of the Clockwork City DLC players join up with some Blackfeather Crows to dispatch of this "mountain of brass and fury" by kicking it down.

It's a memorable quest because of just how absurd the situation is, especially amongst all the seriousness of Sotha Sil. To get a Motionless Guardian for your own home, earn the Honorary Blackfeather achievement by completing 30 daily quests for the Crows. Then, head to Razoufa the Achievement Furnisher in the Clockwork City to purchase this furnishing for 12,000 Gold.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S
