One Elden Ring player makes the game's hardest boss fight feel a bit easier with a surprisingly effective strategy against Malenia, Blade of Miquella. Elden Ring is a game that is host to plenty of challenging experiences, from its slew of difficult bosses, each with their own ways to defeat them, to whatever overpowered build is being used in the game's PVP. Among these experiences, none seem to be equal to that of the Malenia fight, Elden Ring's hardest boss fight. Her fight is a trial, especially if Malenia is bugged to never die, but it seems one player found a decent strategy to break through the warrior's defense.

Malenia is called the hardest boss in Elden Ring for a reason. Her fight consists of hard-to-avoid moves like her Waterfowl Dance, a series of slashes that can leave the player chopped to bits among her swift movements, making her hard to hit. And then to some players' surprise, Malenia comes back with a second phase, known as Goddess of Rot, that introduces Scarlet Rot into the mix, making the already difficult fight even harder. Overall, facing her would require plenty of knowledge of her movements, and how to dodge them.

One player, however, has found a surprisingly effective way to fight Elden Ring's Malenia. Posting to r/Eldenring, user DaddyWhoGames uploaded a video of their fight with the infamous Blade of Miquella. In the video, the player already seems to have extensive knowledge of the fight, being able to know how to dodge each of her attacks. Besides that, though, the player is also utilizing whips, a weapon that had recently been made more powerful thanks to a recent Elden Ring update. The whips the player uses in the video are the Hoslow's Petal Whips. With them, they are able to stagger and defeat Malenia quite easily.

In the comments, many of the users were commending the Elden Ring player for their ability to defeat Malenia so quickly, while others attributed their success not to the weapons, but to the player's ability to dodge Malenia's attacks. While this is true, being able to dodge Malenia's attacks can make her fight much easier, the fact that these whips are good for staggering her is another important fact, which can in turn make the fight easier for those struggling.

Even with Elden Ring's penchant for throwing difficult bosses at the player, there is always going to be some sort of weakness to exploit. For instance, there are many cases where players have made the Blade of Miquella fight easier, like a mimic tear build that destroys Malenia. If the difficulty of the bosses brings a player down, there are always multiple options for them to take that can possibly improve the survivability of the fight.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
