Sleep is a powerful status effect in Elden Ring that can be used to put an enemy to sleep. Sleeping enemies will be unable to act and just lie on the floor giving players the ability to perform a backstab. Some enemies are more susceptible to sleep than others and even some bosses can easily be put to sleep with only a few pots.

Sleep Pots do require a small bit of FP to use even though they are a consumable. Sleep Pots can be crafted but will first require players to find a specific cookbook in Limgrave. The effectiveness of Sleep Pots is determined by the player's Arcane, with a higher Arcane requiring fewer pots to put an enemy to sleep.

Where To Find Fervor's Cookbook [1] In Elden Ring

Players looking for Fevor's Cookbook [1] can travel there immediately after arriving in the Lands Between if they want to. Players will need to start at the Mistwood Outskirt Site of Grace in northeastern Limgrave and travel north until they see the large piece of ruins acting as an arch over the road. Go off the road to the right and travel up and over the ruins to the graveyard on the upper plateau. Frevor's Cookbook [1] will be on the second coffin in the middle row.

How To Craft Sleep Pots In Elden Ring

  • Costs 9 FP to use.
  • C scaling from the players' Arcane.

Once players obtain the Cookbook, the recipe will be added to the crafting menu as long as they have the Crafting Kit in Elden Ring. To craft a Sleep Potion players will need a cracked pot, one mushroom, and one Trina's Lilly. Mushrooms are the easiest of the required items to get and can be found in most regions of the Lands Between growing around small bodies of water or in caves.

Trina's Lily can also be found out in the open world and won't respawn after being plucked. These plants offer a white glow from their flowers to help make them visible at night, and they too grow in most regions of the world and are usually found off main roads and around trees and other plants.

Cracked Pots in Elden Ring are another item players will happen upon throughout their journey but can also be purchased at a few locations if needed such as Merchant Kale in the Church of Elleh. Unlike the other items, Cracked Pots return to the player's inventory after being thrown, letting them easily craft another Sleep Pot once they leave combat.
