Talismans in Elden Ring can be specifically tailored to a type of build or generally useful to everyone. For the most part, the Talismans found in the early game are much more broadly-appealing, and Talismans found later in the game are more geared for specific gameplay styles.

The Viridian Amber Medallion in Elden Ring is a powerful artifact for a variety of builds. While its effect is tied to Stamina, it's not exactly like the Chloranthy Ring from the Dark Souls series. Instead, the Viridian Amber Medallion has the basic (but useful) effect of increasing your Maximum Stamina.

The Viridian Amber Medallion Increases Max Stamina

  • "The Erdtree's old sap becomes amber, treasured as the most precious of jewels in the age of Godfrey, the first Elden Lord. Primordial life energy resides inside."

The Viridian Amber Medallion has a simple but useful effect: with this Talisman equipped a player's maximum Stamina is increased slightly. What makes this Talisman so useful, especially early on, is the fact that it lets players perform more actions before needing to recover their Stamina.

It might not seem like a huge addition to your Stamina bar, but the extra wiggle room is more than enough for most players to get an extra dodge roll, an extra block, or that last crucial hit to down a boss before they strike back. Later on it's a good idea to level Endurance and increase Stamina, which provides the same effect as this Talisman, though the +1 and +2 versions are still super useful (though much harder to get than the vanilla one).

Where To Find The Viridian Amber Medallion

The Viridian Amber Medallion can be found in the Tombsward Cave, a dungeon located in the western Weeping Peninsula a stone's throw away from one of Elden Ring's many Walking Mausoleums. From the Bridge of Sacrifices Grace, head along the path south until you see a path leading North. Take this path and travel through the Demi-Human Forest until you reach an area just north of a Minor Erdtree.

From here, keep heading west and make your way carefully down the cliffs to enter the Walking Mausoleum's territory. In the distance to the west you should see a rise with a Church on top - head to this spot, the Fourth Church of Marika, to find a Site of Lost Grace. Tombsward Cave is hidden in a thicket directly southeast of the Fourth Church of Marika. At the end of this dungeon, beat the poisonous boss Miranda the Blighted Bloom and the Viridian Amber Medallion will be yours!

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
