FromSoftwware's Elden Ring has been in the market for a very short time and gamers are already looking for ways to get the best out of it. Even though Elden Ring has seen a spectacular launch and has the potential to be the biggest release of the year, a distinct section of fans remain unhappy.

Apparently, not every gamer is satisfied with Elden Ring. Unfortunately, Elden Ring doesn't natively support ultra-wide resolutions, angering several gamers who want to enjoy the game on wide monitors. Further, players are also complaining about Elden Ring framerate issues that might get fixed easily by making some technical adjustments, such as a trick to enable ultra-wide resolutions.

The gaming community came to the rescue yet again and figured out a way to play Elden Ring on ultra-wide resolutions. This savior is a tool called Flawless Ultrawide that enables ultra-wide resolutions for a handful of games. Gamers are often drawn towards external sources for solutions, which can sometimes be malicious. Tools coming from external sources always have associated risks. For instance, Flawless Ultrawide is meant for offline use only as Bandai Namco will ban any player who is caught using the tool in an online session.

Even playing Elden Ring in offline mode will appease many ultra-wide screen lovers who crave to enjoy their favorite titles on wide monitors. For offline use as well, gamers will need to perform additional technical tweaks to ensure the tool works properly. This includes enabling the "Eldenring" plugin and creating a file named "steam_appid.txt" in the Elden Ring folder. Currently, the tool is only available for Windows with a Linux version in development.

Whether this tool quenches the thirst of hardcore gamers for a widescreen Elden Ring experience is yet to be seen. As Bandai Namco faces criticism for performance issues, this tool could act as an unusual pacifier. Although the game has received positive reviews for its story, design, and gameplay, it faces some backlash for framerate and other performance-related issues.

Consequently, Bandai Namco recently addressed Elden Ring performance issues in a Twitter post about a new patch to fix the issues. Apparently, mouse sensitivity has emerged as the most common problem along with the framerate. The new upcoming patch could possibly fix these issues, however, these could be caused due to outdated graphics or systems that don't meet minimum requirements.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
