The Uchigatana is a katana in Elden Ring that is intended for builds that focus primarily on Dexterity and Strength. While players that select Elden Ring's Samurai class will start the game with one of these swords, there is another way for fans to go about obtaining an Uchigatana. This guide will detail that process, and it should make it very easy for players to add this katana to their offensive arsenals.

Elden Ring: Uchigatana Location

Fans that are on the hunt for the Uchigatana in Elden Ring should turn their attention to the north side of Limgrave, the game's very first area. More specifically, players must track down an optional dungeon called the Deathtouched Catacombs, which is just to the west of Saintsbridge. For full clarity, the precise position of the Deathtouched Catacombs is shown in the video that is below, and fans should enter and start their descent upon arrival.

Not long after entering the Deathtouched Catacombs, players will run into a wall, and they should turn to the left to keep progressing. Just a few steps past this point, Elden Ring fans will encounter a small staircase, and they should descend it, turn to the right at the bottom, and continue forward until they reach a room with a statue in it. There is a lever directly in front of that statue, which players should interact with in order to open the area where the Uchigatana is held.

To reach that area, players must do some backtracking, stopping after they ascend the first set of stairs that they climb. At the top of these stairs, fans should turn to the left and pass through a narrow corridor that is on the left side. Players must now pass through yet another corridor on the left to reach a corpse that is hanging off a ledge. This corpse holds the Uchigatana, and fans will be able to equip this Elden Ring weapon as soon as it has been looted.

To note, there is also a talisman that players can obtain in the Deathtouched Catacombs: the Assassin's Crimson Dagger. This talisman allows players to restore health with critical hits, and it is earned by defeating the Black Knife Assassin. Fans should not be too concerned if they are unable to slay this optional boss the first time that they visit the Deathtouched Catacombs, though, as they can always return to the dungeon and collect the accessory later in their Elden Ring playthroughs.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
