Elden Ring is a game with a varied and intriguing combat system. As with other titles by developer FromSoftware, a focus is put on giving the player multiple options for how they want to face the difficult enemies and bosses of the game. Whether it be simple sword and shield tactics or going for a full magic build, there's plenty of cool ways Elden Ring players can customize their characters. As there are a multitude of classes as well, this makes for even more variety compared to previous FromSoftware titles.

A weapon that has found a great deal of interest from Elden Ring players is the twinblade. The twinblade looks at first glance like it is two longswords attached to one another by the hilt. Whether this weapon was an invention of the game developers or fantasy author George R.R. Martin is unknown, but since there are only two in the original Dark Souls games, many players have found its return to Elden Ring as a welcome one.

The twinblade especially proves to be a cool weapon when used in combination with the Bloodflame Blade ability. This gives the twinblade a red, flaming effect, making it look like the lightsaber Darth Maul wields in the Star Wars franchise. Reddit user u/Night_Parad0x posted a clip of them using the combination, with some interesting effects. Not only does it look extremely cool for a Darth Maul lightsaber to exist in Elden Ring, but it seems like an effective weapon too.

While using a lot of stamina, the weapon can cut through the health of enemies quickly. While the Bloodflame Blade buff lasts, the Elden Ring player seemed about as powerful as someone wielding a lightsaber in a fantasy setting would be. Other Elden Ring players in the comments of the Reddit video were praising the player for the cool trick, and according to u/Night_Parad0x, they're looking for another twinblade in order to dual wield the weapons.

With the addition of Elden Ring's more fleshed out character creator as well, it seems that players won't have to stop at just wielding Darth Maul's weapon. So far, players have been making all sorts of strange and interesting characters in Elden Ring. From handsome Shrek to the Joker, there are plenty of options for play both in character creation and the weapons a player uses.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
