One of the defining characteristics that help Elden Ring stand out from other titles in FromSoftware's library is its sprawling open world. Elden Ring's open world features vast landscapes that players have to traverse, and while they can do so on foot, it's much easier to get through the game world on Torrent, the player's friendly Spirit Steed that looks like a horse. Elden Ring players obtain Torrent early on in the game, and they will find themselves calling on the creature countless times during their adventure.

Elden Ring players can use Torrent not only to travel great distances in the Lands Between, but they can also utilize its double jump ability to reach new heights. The mount adds another layer to Elden Ring's traversal mechanics, giving players more freedom when it comes to getting from one point to the next. But while Torrent is incredibly useful, it's not without its flaws, as pointed out by a new video from Zullie the Witch.

Zullie the Witch has uploaded a new video discussing Torrent from Elden Ring, explaining two of the mount's biggest flaws from a design perspective. The first pointed out in the video is the fact that sometimes Torrent doesn't double jump when the player falls off a cliff. There was speculation in the community that this was due to the size of the weapon players have equipped when falling, but Zullie the Witch explains that it is instead due to the way certain weapons are held. Zullie the Witch says that it is "most likely a glitch." If so, it will be interesting to see if FromSoftware attempts to fix it in a future Elden Ring update.

The other issue pointed out in the video has to do with Torrent's health. Torrent does not heal if the player dies or fast travel, and so they have to resort to other methods to restoring its health. Players can do this by resting at Sites of Grace, feeding Torrent, or respawning Torrent after it dies. For those who may not be aware, players have the option of respawning Torrent by using a Flask of Crimson Tears charge.

Hardcore Elden Ring fans may be fascinated by this insight into Torrent, and they should check out Zullie the Witch's other videos as well. They include an explanation on how tall the Erdtree is, closer looks at the enemy designs in the game, and more.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
