Elden Ring is full of tough challenges to come, from areas filled with brutal enemies to overwhelmingly difficult bosses like Malenia. As such, some Elden Ring players turn to co-op summons, which doubles as a way to encounter some memorable character designs.

Fans have shown off plenty of interesting Elden Ring characters thus far, ranging from real life people like Snoop Dogg to video game characters like Metal Gear Solid 5’s Venom Snake. While these designs are usually shared online by their creators right after they have been made, sometimes they are only spotted in-game by those engaging with co-op or PvP. This has led to some unexpected encounters with player-made Tarnished like Big Maliketh and Fat Malenia, and now, a lucky Reddit user has stumbled upon the Mad Titan Thanos.

Thanos has always been a key villain within Marvel comics, but the MCU took his popularity to new heights. Thanos’ philosophy about balance and his intimidating nature in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame instantly made him an iconic character, and following those films, many have been using character creators in video games to make their protagonists look as close to Thanos as possible. The design spotted by Reddit user YungCoots proved to be a particularly entertaining one, as the player who made it worked around the character creator's limitations to ensure Thanos’ unique facial features are still present.

Alongside Thanos’ signature purple skin, lines can be seen on his forehead as well as a furrowed brow and massive mouth. While it is not possible to replicate the ridges on his chin through Elden Ring’s character creator, the Marvel fan did place a large scar on the lower portion of Thanos’ face to mimic his distinct chin. While it can barely be made out, the lower portion of the summon image also shows some gold armor, proving that the player has really gone out of their way to make this depiction of Thanos as accurate as possible.

Alongside over 4,800 upvotes, the Elden Ring community filled the comments section with some entertaining jokes. For example, CarolinaRS6 said that there was a 50/50 chance Malenia would be one-shot or that the player would cease to exist, a nod to Thanos killing half of the human population. In response to this, YungCoots confirmed that they did indeed summon the Thanos player. Hilariously, the summoned player only used the snap gesture when fighting Malenia.

Whether gamers are controlling Thanos in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands or the Lands Between, it seems like Marvel fans cannot get enough of playing as the purple alien. While this summoned player may not have had access to the Infinity Gauntlet, their constant snapping likely got a big laugh out of YungCoots.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
