Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree introduced a wave of powerful and useful talismans to help players survive the dangers of the Shadow Realm. Many talismans from the base game have received upgraded and powerful variants in Elden Ring, such as all three Amber Medallions, the Green Turtle Talisman , different elemental Drake Talismans, and more.

In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, you can find the +3 variants of the Flamedrake Talisman, Boltdrake Talisman, Spelldrake Talisman, and Pearldrake Talisman. However, there isn't the same variant for the Haligdrake Talisman, which increases Holy damage negation. Instead of the Haligdrake Talisman +3, FromSoft decided to expand further on Queen Marika's story and added the Golden Braid Talisman. The Golden Braid Talisman is essentially the Haligdrake Talisman +3 in Elden Ring DLC. It provides the highest amount of Holy damage negation (22%) and is a must-have for players planning to fight the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree. Elden Ring: Golden Braid Location Guide

To get the Golden Braid Talisman, you will have to head to the Shaman Village, guarded behind the Shadow Keep legacy dungeon. In the Shaman Village, go to the tree on the edge of the southern cliff to find a statue at the root of the tree holding the Golden Braid Talisman. This is easier said than done, as the path to the Shaman Village is far from simple and requires a long journey. On the bright side, there are no non-optional bosses awaiting you on the path to the Shaman Village.

How to Get to Shaman Village

The journey to the Shaman Village starts from Bonny Village. By going southeast of Moorth Ruins in Scadu Altas, you will find a hole leading down to a ladder. Climb this ladder to enter Bonny Village and go north to find the “O Mother” gesture on a broken statue in front of a tree.

After getting the “O Mother” gesture, you need to go to the Shadow Keep, Back Gate site of grace. Follow these steps to reach the Shadow Keep, Back Gate:

1) From Bonny Village, take the two path bridges going northeast to reach the entrance to the Church District of Shadow Keep. The Church District is flooded at first, but the water can be drained by finding a lever. However, you don’t need to do that to get to the Shadow Keep, Back Gate.

2) Jump to the roof west of the Church District Entrance site of grace. Then, jump to the next room and climb the wall on the right side. Next, jump to the ledge of the wall and go to the roof with a Fire Knight.

3) After dealing with the Fire Knight, go south and jump onto the first narrow buttress. Climb this support to find a hole in the roof ahead. Jump down the hole onto an arch support and then again fall through a hole to the south.

4) From there, head north to find a Fire Knight followed by another Fire Knight. The entrance next to the first knight leads to the lever which drains all the water from the flooded Church District. Keep going ahead to find another entrance leading to a lift. Take this lift to get to the Storehouse, Back Section site of grace.

5) Go west from Storehouse, Back Section site of grace to find a ladder. Take this ladder and then go north to find a hole in the wall. Follow the wooden path outside this hole to reach the Storehouse, Loft site of grace.

6) Take the lift next to the Storehouse, Loft site of grace to get to a maze of wooden beams. Go in the north direction to find a mezzanine with a stone archway entrance. Enter this entrance to find a small lift. Take this lift to get to another lift which takes you to the Shadow Keep, Back Gate site of grace.

7) After you have made it to the Shadow Keep, Back Gate, enter the church next to the site of grace and perform the “O Mother” gesture in front of the statue. This will reveal a path leading to the Hinterland site of grace.

From here, head east up the cliff to enter the Shaman Village. Be careful of the Tree Sentinel on the way.In the Shaman Village, you can find the Minor Erdtree incantation and the Golden Braid Talisman under a tree to the south.
