Shadow of the Erdtree is a major expansion to Elden Ring, FromSoft’s highly acclaimed and successful open-world title. After defeating General Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, players can head into the realm of Shadow to learn about Miquella and his plans.

As you enter the shadow realm, you can see the glorious view of Scadutree, or Shadow of the Erdtree, along with a glimpse of the areas the Elden Ring DLC has to offer. FromSoft took inspiration from the verticality of areas like Mountaintops of the Giants and Mt. Gelmir from the base game. Almost all areas in Shadow of the Erdtree are stacked upon one another, with hidden routes and caves leading to other areas. To better explore the Shadow of the Erdtree, it is recommended to first collect all map fragments for the Elden Ring DLC. All Map Fragments in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

There are a total of five map fragments in Shadow of the Erdtree. To find all five fragments, you will need to go to the following locations:

Gravesite Plain Map Fragment Location

Gravesite Plain is the first region in the Land of Shadow. Leave the cave where you were teleported after touching Miquella’s corpse’s hand to find the Gravesite Plain site of grace. From there, head northeast to find the Gravesite Plain map fragment lying under a stele. Be careful of a Curseblade enemy hiding along the way. You can ignore it and head straight to the map fragment.

Scadu Altus Map Fragment Location

The Scadu Altus map is located in front of a stele north of Highroad Cross site of grace. There are two ways to get to the Scadu Altus map fragment in Shadow of the Erdtree. The first way is to defeat Rellana, Twin Moon Knight boss in Castle Ensis in Gravesite Plain. She is a remembrance boss and the final enemy in this minor legacy dungeon. After defeating her, you can leave through the northern door to find the Highroad Cross site of grace.

The second method requires a long journey but might be better than fighting Rellana in Castle Ensis. To get to Scadu Altus without defeating Rellana, head to the small lake southeast of Castle Front site of grace. From there, continue heading southeast towards the poisonous swamps until you reach a rundown shack containing the Talisman of the Dread. Just before this shack, there is a sealed spiritspring jump which can be unlocked by breaking a pile of stones nearby. Take the spiritspring jump to get to the Behind the Fort of Reprimand site of grace. Once you are at the Fort of Reprimand, follow the path going north to reach the stele with the Scadu Altus map fragment.

Southern Shore Map Fragment Location

The Southern Shore map fragment can be found by going south from Cerulean Coast site of grace. On the way, a Ghostflame Dragon will come soaring down from the sky. You can avoid it and run straight for the map fragment.

Cerulean Coast site of grace isn’t an easy location to reach in Shadow of the Erdtree. To get here, first head to Castle Front site of grace, then head down to the small lake to the southeast. Instead of going towards the poisonous swamps, go to the cave entrance guarded by a bunch of Miranda flowers. Enter this cave and follow it to the end to reach Ellac River Cave and then Ellac River Downstream site of grace.

From Ellac River Downstream site of grace, safely make your way down using pillars. Follow the river going southeast and stick to the right-side cliff to find a short tunnel leading to the Cerulean Coast site of grace.

Rauh Ruins Map Fragment Location

The Rauh Ruins map fragment is found near Temple Town Ruins, located southwest of the Ancient Ruins Base site of grace. The journey to the Ancient Ruins Base site of grace is long and arduous.

First, fast travel to the Moorth Ruins site of grace. These ruins are located east of Highroad Cross site of grace and north of the Fort of Reprimand. From Moorth Ruins, head towards the lake to the north. In the northern part of the lake, there is a broken statue of Marika with one Scadutree Fragment in front of it.

Go into the cave behind the statue and exit through its other end to reach an area with poisonous swamps. From there, go west to find the Ancient Ruins Base site of grace. Now, just go southwest from here to find the Rauh Ruins map fragment. You will have to go through two Guardian Golems (Greatbow and Halberd) to reach the stele with the Rauh Ruins map fragment.

Abyssal Wood Map Fragment Location

The last and final map fragment is located in the scariest and creepiest region of the Shadow of the Erdtree: Abyssal Wood. To get the Abyssal Wood map fragment, you will first have to go through the Darklight Catacombs located at the end of Recluses' River in Scadu Altus. At the end of this dungeon, you will have to fight Jori, Elder Inquisitor, to gain entry to the Abyssal Wood.

If you haven’t reached Recluses’ River yet, you will have to find the stone coffin hidden behind an illusory wall in the room with the "Domain of Dragons" painting. Enter this coffin to get to the Castle Watering Hole site of grace. From there, head south to find Recluses' River Upstream and then Recluses' River Downstream site of grace. Continue heading down until you reach a dark forest with vulgar militiamen. Here, you will find the entrance to the Darklight Catacombs.

After defeating Jori, Elder Inquisitor in the Darklight Catacombs, head south to find the Woodland Trail site of grace and then go southeast to find the Abandoned Church. Just before entering the Abandoned Church, you will find the Abyssal Wood map fragment.
