How to Get the Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana in Shadow of the Erdtree

Defeat the Ancient Dragon-Man

The Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana is acquired by defeating the Ancient Dragon-Man in the Dragon's Pit. To reach the Dragon's Pit cave, head south from the Castle Front site of grace in Gravesite Plain. When you reach the first fork, stay left and ride through the spiked barrier. At the second fork, stay right until you start seeing several broken dragon statues. You can follow these statues all the way to the entrance to the Dagon's Pit.

Once you enter the Dragon's Pit cave, you'll want to make your way through to the chamber with the large chasm in between the path and a massive chalice on a stone platform. When you first enter the chamber, you get a hint in the form of written text on the ground. This hint is meant to lead you to the chasm, giving you the courage to jump in. So, this is exactly what you want to do. Jump into the chasm, and you will land in front of Shadow of the Erdtree's Ancient Dragon-Man boss arena. Defeat the boss to instantly receive the Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana .

How to Get Rakshasa's Great Katana in Shadow of the Erdtree

Head to the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum

To get Rakshasa's Great Katana in Shadow of the Erdtree, you'll first need to reach the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum. To do this, you'll need to use the hidden path that leads from the Shadow Keep to the lower Scadu Altus. Use these simple steps to complete this first part of the path:

  • After defeating the Golden Hippopotamus, you'll begin down the main path into the Shadow Keep. Not far along the path, you'll reach a bridge that features several raised fire pits that look like small boats. Head down to the end of the bridge, and look for a ladder on the eastern side.
  • Take the ladder down to the small path that runs along the water. Follow the path under the waterfall, then make your way to the chamber with the 'Domain of Dragons' painting. Look for a blank spot on the wall, found to the right if you are looking face-on at the painting. Hit the wall to reveal the rest of the path.
  • Head through the new opening and follow the path until you reach the stone coffin. Interact with the coffin, and it will take you to lower Scadu Altus, dropping you off at the Castle Watering Hole site of grace. This is where you want to start the second half of the path to the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum.

From the Castle Watering Hole site of grace, you can follow the river south to reach two sites of grace. First, the Receluses' River Upstream site will be found to the left of the first waterfall you reach, on a cliffside path that you will follow next. From there, follow the path further until you reach the Recluses' River Downstream site of grace. From here, look over the ledge to find several protruding tombstones that you can use to reach the lower level of the river. When you reach the lower level, head north towards the waterfall, then turn right when you can. Follow this branch of the river around the turn, and you'll eventually find the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum on the edge of a cliff, sitting just to the left of a massive waterfall.

Defeat Rakshasa

Inside the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum, you'll face Rakshasa without the help of any summons. He can be a bit overwhelming if you come into the fight under-leveled. Make sure you have a Scadutree Blessing level of at least +10, preferably more. Watch out for his overuse of the Weed Cutter weapon skill. He will frequently use it three times in a row. Once he is defeated, you will receive Rakshasa's Great Katana and the Rakshasa Set .
